Question when you doing shrink? The liner still on?
@ExoShield4 сағат бұрын
Great Question! Yes, the liner stays on while you shrink / mold ExoShield Windshield Protection film. The liner remains attached until you have the film fully formed and are ready to install it onto the glass.

Just curious, whats does it protect from?

Windshield's are susceptible to all kinds of damage from everyday driving, and replacing the front glass on new vehicles has become very expensive! ExoShield Windshield Protection Film is designed to protect the glass from stone chips, scratching, etching and other damage, saving drivers from an expensive windshield replacement. Many vehicles owners don't find out how costly it is to replace their windshield until it's too late!

While trying to remove water from under the film we end up with scratching, how do ww avoid this? The film is so soft.
@ExoShield7 күн бұрын
The tools we supply in the ULTRA tool kit are created with materials designed to not scratch the surface of the film during installation. There is a chance that the film could scratch from debris being stuck in the squeegee while applying the pressure needed to get the moisture out from behind the ULTRA. Making sure to always wet the surface of the film while you're squeegeeing will help avoid this! If the squeegee itself feels rough on the edge of the blade an imperfection on the squeegee itself could create a light scratch during the heavy squeegee passes, this is why we provide 2 squeegees in the tool kit! If you need additional help with installing ExoShield ULTRA, shoot us an email! [email protected]

Hey Larry, great video especially the details on how to handle the fingers! I only recently switched over to Exoshield for my cars but noticed the improved clarity of this film, and what seems like less distortion once cured. It is good to see that you are still in the industry, the last time we crossed paths was in 2014 Monterey for Porsche Parade.

I love how they offer DIY kits for two models of vehicles…both with tiny FLAT windshields. Where are the other kits?
@ExoShield6 күн бұрын
Hey! Fair question. We released these kits for the exact reasons you mentioned. They're super flat which makes them prone to chipping. Tiny... sure compared to other windshields, but have you ever tried putting on a phone screen protector? When paired up with our DIY kits, these windshields are easy enough that someone who has never installed film before can get a great result (make sure to watch our installation videos first!) More complicated installations we leave to our network of professional installers to make sure the protected clients get the best possible results. Thanks for asking!

I just installed mine today. I have put window film on, i have painted cars and have never had issues, until today. I would recommend this be done by a car window specialist/company. Not made for diy. I had a clean garage, no fans, clean relatively new Bronco that hadn’t been in the mud. Washed it, cleaned per the video, nice smooth glass, no wiper marks. The defects under my film after install could not be removed. It was difficult to align even with 2 of us. You are Bucks ahead if you take it to a car film shop.

@ExoShield2 ай бұрын
Hi there! This is a common question we get! Windshield wipers themselves will not scratch ExoShield ULTRA! It's only when debris gets lodged in the wipers that the risk of scratching increases. We recommend keeping the windshield wipers in good condition and clean to prevent scratches to the film.

Yeah what is the point of this product? A windshield doesn't get UV damage that's going to get UV damage it's a polymer. It will not prevent any chips or scratches on your windshield. Chips and scratches happen at highway speeds and If your windshield couldn't stand up against it, that is not going to help anything. In fact, when the scratches and chip does happen to the windshield that's going to peel away and you're going to see little air pockets and it's going to be impossible to see and you'll still have that scratch or chip.

You know your stuff! ExoShield Windshield Protection Film is designed to withstand the UV that would quickly degrade most other substrates used in this application. We do this through our proprietary nanotechnology solutions that are embedded into the makeup of our windshield protection films. We have a a few videos where we show the impact protection in action! Check this out → kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ntiKm6aKltGviH0.htmlfeature=shared While it might be hard to believe, our engineers have been hard at work for years now pushing this technology forward and we are proud to stand behind ExoShield as a true and lasting protection solution.

Hi there. I currently have exoshield on my car, but got a huge rock chip that went through the exoshield and now requires fixing. Multiple auto glass repair shops said they cannot fix the chip with the exoshield on. WHat should I do? Must I remove the exoshield to get this chip repaired? Thanks, John

Hey John, if the impact did cause damage through the film you will need to have the ExoShield removed to repair the damage. Curios the difference iff a jagged rock was thrown at it instead of
@ExoShield2 ай бұрын
Hey Andrew! Great question. In order for us to create consistency in this test we used a perfectly round steel ball, but we've launched rocks, bolts, nuts and tons of other objects at glass protected by ExoShield at highway speeds. Realistically the steel ball is going to cause more damage than a rock of similar size or weight for a few reasons. One being that steel is much harder and more dense than rock. This means that all of the force from the projectile is being transferred into the film and glass rather than back into the rock, destroying it.
