What brand of struts assembly did you use on the Camry for both the rear and the front? How is the ride quality after so long? TIA.

I ordered a wheel bearing from 1A Auto for my mechanic to press in and it did not fit the car. I had to quickly go to the local auto parts and pay a higher price for one. I had no choice as they had my car apart already. I had the part at home way past the time they’d allow for a refund. They would send me a second one but I had to return the old one with return shipping at my expense. The replacement would be the same exact model number according to my car. No way to know if they had a screw up in their computers or someone mistakenly put the wrong part in that one box. Either way, the new part was already installed and would not fit on the other side.

Do you have to get an alignment after replacing the links?
@martinbateman2467
@martinbateman2467 Ай бұрын
A little tip I was given is to use a camber gauge to set as a reference before you remove the carrier from the strut. Use that reference for when you fit the new strut and the wheel camber should be pretty good and certainly good enough until the alignment gets checked and adjusted

08, 6.4L - 385k egr and dpf delete. Chipped and tuned with mini maxx , rotella T4 every 5k. Motorcraft filters, i do fuel and oil filters every 5k. Every now and then i extend to 6 or 7k between changes if im to busy. But i never let it get beyond 7k between changes. I also put one quart of power punch in on every change.

That’s why you get what you pay for best thing is go for OEM parts more expensive but you get quality not fraudulent parts

My kit is on order and it will be next week's project. I was just under my 99 F-250 doing an oil change. I'm 76 years old and changing the oil is about the last of the things I can still do. Before I swore my way out from underneath the truck I always bang on things. This time I heard the loose sound of the long bolt There were no bushings at all! On one side even the sleeve is missing? The parts should be here by Monday. The bitch of it all is I know how to do most of these things myself but I can no longer get up or down very well and can no longer stand long enough to do a lot of things. The Golden Years are made of BRASS!!

One thing to consider is that just because a part is new, doesn't mean it's good. It could have been a one-off kind of thing that you happen to have one that slipped past quality control and if you had gotten another one from 1A auto, it may have lasted you $100,000. Unfortunately there's no real way to know.

Do you need to take off tire to do this or can you just turn it to the side?
@daxxenkelson9956

You can just turn it to the side but it makes it harder because less room due to the tire being in your way

I've never bought parts from them but I did buy some TRQ struts for my 2004 Golf. Someone said A-1 use those parts. They didn't last 3 months before they started knocking.

Hey brother, how's the 6.4 these days? Looking to buy an 08 F250 6.4L. It has 103,000 and was deleted at 101,000. It's a beautiful truck, but I'm a little hesitant on buying it just because of the stereotype around it.

Good video. But ya right. That Camry will last way longer and go way further than a Ford or any American made vehicle. I've put mine through hell and I would have bought 4 fords by now. I've owned both and trust me. Toyota is leaps and bounds ahead of Ford.

Have you ever had to replace your third brake light above your back hatch door wiring harness because it melted? I was wondering how to fix mine on my 2000 ford expedition 4.6L V8 Triton XLT. I was told by a auto parts employee that I would have to solder a new one in, whatever that means. Also have you had the metal tube that you insert the tire rod in to crank down the spare tire fall out? Need to find out how to repair that to.😮 As a female that's new to doing my own vehicle repairs, this is new to me. I'm still researching!🤔💅🏼

Cool video! I'm gonna replace the front bushings on my 1998 Ford Escort. Again. The last time the auto parts store sold the kit with large flat washers, instead of the cupped ones. The bushings cracked a year after two years.

Well there may be one or two the junk ford 6.4 out there that are still living but I have an 08 450 with the 6.4 in it that was blown with only 54k miles on it. Truck was bought new no mods done dealer did all maintenance on the truck on schedule down to the wiper blades. Only Ford techs ever touched this truck and it was done at the dealership. Ford wouldn’t help replace the motor because it was technically out of warranty by 30days when it got towed in to the dealership. Paid to have new motor installed at a tone of $22K with only a 1 year warranty. Two months after that the high pressure fuel pump went out. That was again “not under warranty”. Then the whole front end had to be replaced. Then the front drive shaft let go and took the transmission, transfer case, fuel pump/filter, 3 hard fuel lines, cross member and a few other odds and ends out. Now it’s been back in for the turbo back pressure switch. Again dealership maintained. So word of advice do not buy a Ford diesel after they quit with the 7.3l this truck now only has a total of 115k miles on it on the frame and I could of bought this truck like three times for what I have in repairs for this junk. Ford needs to do better. Yes I love my ford trucks but they need to prove to me they will last before I ever buy another truck. It’s hard to spend $90,000 plus on a truck you may have to spend another $40,000 on in 3 years once that warranty runs out to keep it running 🤷‍♂️

If you remove the bottom filter first, you won't have to deal with all of the fuel in the upper filter housing since it will drain down.

I never had issues with TQR parts but no company is perfect. I wish you luck with moog I kinda stay away from them they no longer do quality parts like before. Moog has been adding plastic to their ball joints if you cut them open you'll see. But I think all companies are manufacturing subpar parts nowadays.

I mean honestly bro you get what you pay which is fair or atleast as long as you actually get what you ordered but ya like I just ordered two front cv axle assemblies for $160 if they last me two months I will have gotten four times what they’re actually worth and I won’t be upset they’re very simple to replace on my old Chevy and $$160 w free shipping is pocket money in this economy so as long as they get me to work until my next check it’s not a serious deal if I wanna go off-roading or rip through gears on the highway I’ll happily go spend the money on performance parts, but these don’t have performance prices can’t expect them to have performance quality
