I bought the reusable ones for NCL and Carnival, as they are who I have cruised on most. Want to try princess next, but I need to wait until my finances improve. I really hate when life gets in the way of fun stuff!

My partner and I just started cruising this year and we LOVE IT (have gone on NCL and Celebrity so far)! I have to admit - based on what’s been written about MSC in the past, it would have been wayyy down on our list of cruise lines to try. But recent footage of their newest ships and a wave of more positive reviews have convinced us to give MSC a shot! We’re going on our first MSC cruise in Sept to Bermuda! Thank you for this interview!

Water shoes are a must, especially if you are cruising around Hawaii. All of the beaches have volcanic rocks which can be very rough on your feet. Liquid IV is also good as a substitute for Gatorade to assist with hydration. Lastly, a waterproof phone case is great when you are near the water to capture the memories without wrecking your phone. Cruise Life!

The private island is so relaxing.

Ocean cay is beautiful. Snorkelling is great in the lagoon by the rocks. Have seen sand covered by live conch, turtle by lighthouse swims up and down ocean fence. Flounder on bottom. I only book overnight stays to ocean cay. Trip 6 coming up. Booked just to see changes on island. Thank you msc for helping to save our oceans. My suggestion would be to make the sidewalks safer for pedestrians on the island. The trams that use the same paths are dangerous and sometimes move too fast for safety. Traffic engineer here so ideally the peds and the trams should be separated.

We will be sailing on our 2nd cruise on Seashore in September. We loved the first time and loved the ship. We're booked for 2025 on World America. That ship looks fantastic! So far, we have NO complaints about MSC. 100% satisfied.

Angela, great interview. I cruised Meraviglia recently in April 24 out of New York and loved it. The recommendations I would have for MSC is to consider all aspects of enjoying the cruise from the perspective of single cruisers traveling by themselves, particularly as regards main dining, social events, and excursions.....MSC helping single cruisers to meet up with other single cruisers as various groups, or even established family groups would really make a difference. They do have a reasonable pricing discount for single bookings (1.7x ??) but this benefit is often undermined by: single bookings for many cruises mysteriously not available even though there is extensive bookings availability on the same cruise for parties of two; and the fact that upgrade bids for single travelers are essentially priced/charged as if it was an upgrade bid for two persons. If you booked as a single then the upgrade bid price should be multiplied by 1x only, not the current 2x; required minimum value or reasonable upgrade bids should also be structured so that you can win a last minute upgrade bid for less of a cost than it would have been if your original booking was made at the higher level of service....similar to how you can get relative bargains flying Business Class by submitting a reasonable competive upgrade bid. If I sail from the Brooklyn cruise terminal im taking amtrak from Central Pennsylvania to ny Penn Station and taking the subway to lower Manhattan and the ferry to the terminal

Great tips...they were very helpful for my cruise. Your tip on walking to the rear of the buffet was very accurate...I modified it by walking to the very rear (aft end ??) of the ship on the deck overhead the buffet, and then taking an exterior stair down to the buffet level where there is outdoor seating... it's the perfect place for breakfast or lunch while the ship is sailing.

I could never take all this stuff with me. I travel light.

We again are going on the Meraviglia on June 2nd this will be our 4th time on this ship, plus we our booked again in August for 2 weeks again in October for 2 weeks and well will plan something for 2025 on the cruise in October. The Yacht Club and the staff are just the best we met some great people made some good friends and we stay in touch hoping that we will meet up again soon. Cruise line programs can be tricky and they never make it easy. I have always budgeted for travel insurance so I don't have to loose my shirt when things end up falling apart. This next trip going to Iceland. Delta has already changed my flights twice and my cruise is not until June. Wish me luck.

Great tips! We just booked our first Celebrity Cruise with anytime dining! I went to reserve our dinner times and they're a bit later than I would have hoped! Is there a way to ask for an earlier time once on board? Or just watch the app and hope someone cancels?

Hmmm the airfare information you provided is NOT TRUE. We chose our dates, and departure with our airfare package.

I think that the bottom line about airfare with NCL is buyer beware. What you want, and what's best for NCL are not usually the same thing. It's possible to have what you want, but you are not likely to get it. Once ticketed, it is set in stone and all of the complaining in the world won't change it. I usually cruise solo, so most of the time I handle my own air travel. The FAS air offer doesn't apply to solo travel. Great video content!

I received that email about that $150 scam and ignored it. I'm not sure if that is the reason that they decided to punish me. I just received my air confirmation for my flights. They have me flying in the day before my cruise at 6:00AM and arriving at 8:00AM. The trouble with that is that I can't get into my hotel until the afternoon. On my return flight home, on the day of the return, they stuck me on a flight that doesn't take off until 11:50PM, stranding me at the airport for over 12 hours. Not good.

I think NCL has made changes to the shopping cart after the bad press last year. For the last few cruises where I've been booking excursions, if we were still looking at excursions, the cart expired and everything was removed after 15 min. It still a good idea to make sure your cart is empty (paid or deleted) before you leave the web site.
