I was so surprised by what showed up with your words, “your darkest hour”. I did not expect this memory. If I really thought about it, this experience would NOT have been the one I chose. I would have expected the birth of my children and how that completely and suddenly shifted my life to have ranked in the top 5. Or really any difficult experiences I’ve had with my kids would have appeared as one of these dark moments. But a romantic breakup? That seemed so insignificant when I thought about what really mattered in my life. What I think matters are the areas I’ve mastered, my work, my family. Yes, partnership has alluded me. Yes, I’ve had my finger on the pulse of it. Yes, it continues to pop up now and then as taking center stage. But I would not have consciously considered any events associated with this aspect of my life to have come through loud and clear as connected to this reading.
