June 2024 and your video is still helping people 10 years later! I am one of the least “handy” guys around and my wife and I tackled this fairly easily. Part was $12 from Amazon. Took us less than 1 hour. And I only cut myself once (maybe a record for me!). Thank you sir!

Thanks for this video. My Kenmore 80 series was overflowing and wouldn't recognize the water levels.....plus it was tripping my gcfi everytime I closed the lid. Soooooo, I changed out the lid switch and Voila!!!! Yay me!!! So nice being able to fix this machine myself over the past 23 years! Yes, these are built to last,.....just wear and tear sometimes and most fixes are pretty easy. Saved me tons of money with these videos. MUCH gratitude. Thanks again.

The fix really is as easy as it appears in the video! This is not my strong suit, but completed the task easily with a 10 dollar part from Amazon. Figured if I can make minor repairs like this to my 20 year old washer, I'll keep doing so as long as possible. Really helpful resource!

I tried the trick in the video worked once. Then I thought maybe there was dust on it, so I took a soft bristle Oral B toothbrush; yep dust that worked. Today I used a damp toothbrush and got dust and dirt. Maybe this time permanent fix.
