Would like to hear your perspective on practicing in California/saturated area. I'm from CA and would love to move back but I feel like in another state I make more as an associate than what I hear most owners make in CA. Why do so many struggle there? And do you feel like it can be predictably overcome if you're smart about it?
@Dr_andrewchoi
@Dr_andrewchoi Ай бұрын
In my opinion, the struggle comes from competition and politics. I’m a strong believer that those who will succeed will succeed anywhere, but there are more struggles in a disadvantageous environment.

How do you go about balancing your professional and personal life? It important to be disciplined and focus on progressing your career, however it’s equally important to take a step back and enjoy life to avoid burnout. How do you find and maintain this balance?
@Dr_andrewchoi
@Dr_andrewchoi Ай бұрын
Balancing professional and personal life is indeed a crucial aspect of overall well-being. I approach this balance with a few key principles: Perspective on Work Ethic: I recognize that our generation's work-life expectations differ from those of our parents. For example, my dad worked six days a week for over 20 years, embodying a relentless work ethic. While I respect and admire that dedication, I also understand that our generation places a higher value on work-life balance and personal fulfillment. Hard Work and Enjoyment: I believe in working hard, especially in the early stages of my career. It's essential to build a strong foundation and develop a sense of discipline. However, I also believe that work should be enjoyable. Finding joy in the process and taking pride in my accomplishments helps me stay motivated and reduces the risk of burnout. To be frank, I am not sure yet. I am in the process of figuring it out. I do know that without work, I won't be able to achieve the "success" that I hope to gain. The type of success I want is not easy, so I get my ass to work and discipline myself through it all.

I accidentally deleted the question: My office has 4 ops, 2 part time hygiene, I am FT doc, two PT associates, I do almost everything in terms of clinical procedures, we are a family dental office. Mostly bread and butter, that is what I focus on. I do love surgical procedures so I do 3rds and I plan to focus more in implant dentistry.

21:44 love the story man. Currently find myself in a similar spot, I’m out in the Calabasas area, about to start my third year of Juco and I also had a lot of bad habits pre college, I’ve been a lot better ever since but even the first 2 semesters were tough, hoping to head out to SDSU Fowler college next spring. I also feel like I had identity issues, my parents are Hispanic and I’m a first generation student and growing up now refelcting I feel like I was to white to be around my Hispanic friends and to Hispanic to be around my white friends, it was a battle at times I didn’t where I fit in. Crazy how this journey works man, I’m sure you can relate back to when you first started to correct your habits and really started to do a lot better, it’s tough but everything I’ve done up until now has been and I’ve done it. I’m applying for sdsu in the fall and again, it’s tough I messed up my first sem so idk if they’ll take me but we’ll see, love the story man🙏🏽 it’s amazing and makes me feel good to see that I can actually change if I really want to, so far so good

As a small business owner, I agree always interviewing is a good approach. But as a job seeker, especially an unemployed job seeker, it is very frustrating going for interview for jobs that don't really exist. As a job seeker you want to know there is a real job out there, not just going through the interview process. I believe this is why many job seekers are frustrated in the job hunt.

Literally use of "doing God's work" You broke it down saying that your objectives are -meeting awesome people -creating value and the best experience for patients -expanding your comfort zone -designing protocols for one accorded -making time to broaden your paradigm The fact that you say that you are objectively interested in learning from new people means that you understand the principle of mentorship. Essentially what the followers can do in your absence. You learned that this method is more practical than trying to take on all responsibility for yourself. And that there is power in the diversity of gifts, that you shouldn't have to do it on your own This is characteristic of the melting pot dynamic of this country
