Anyone still here watching the greatest commander Erwin

Genuinely some of the best motivational writing I've seen in any show, across any genre, ever. This ranks up there with Denzel Washington's speech to the black kid in Equalizer 2. "Man ain't spelled G-U-N, son. You got a choice. You got talent. You got a chance. And I don't wanna hear about your environment, or what your mama never gave you, or the white man won't give you no shot, you got a chance. Use it while you're still alive! You don't know what death is! YOU HAVE *NO* IDEA WHAT DEATH IS!!"

EVERYTHING THAT YOU THOUGHT HAD MEANING, EVERY HOPE, DREAM, OR MOMENT OF HAPPINESS, NONE OF IT MATTERS AS YOU LIE BLEEDING OUT ON THE BATTLE FIELD. NONE OF IT CHANGES WHAT A SPEEDING ROCK DOES TO A BODY. WE ALL DIE. BUT DOES THAT MEAN OUR LIVES ARE MEANINGLESS? DOES THAT MEAN THAT THERE WAS NO POINT IN OUR BEING BORN? WOULD YOU SAY THAT OF OUR SLAIN COMRADES? WHAT ABOUT THEIR LIVES? WERE THEY MEANINGLESS? THEY WERE NOT! THEIR MEMORY SERVES AS AN EXAMPLE TO US ALL. THE COURAGEOUS FALLEN, THE ANGUISHED FALLEN. THEIR LIVES HAVE MEANING BECAUSE WE THE LIVING REFUSE TO FORGET THEM, AND AS WE RIDE TO CERTAIN DEATH WE TRUST OUR SUCCESSORS TO DO THE SAME FOR US! *BECAUSE MY SOLDIERS DO NOT BUCKLES OR YIELD WHEN FACED WITH THE CRUELTY OF THIS WORLD. MY SOLDIERS PUSH FORWARD!! MY SOLDIERS SCREAM OUT!!!! MY SOLDIERS RAGEEEEE!!!!* IN THE WORDS OF EREN JÄGER, TATAKAE!!!!

His speech contradicts itself. His fallen comrades find meaning by having their memory live on? But all those men who are going to die will no longer remember them when they die.... so the meaning will be over. Find your meaning in Christ, gentlemen. Nothing else.

Everyone I see is crying for Rengoku but no one, literally no one is abusing Akaza, ofcourse Akaza and Rengoku are the two sides of coin, both right at their own place, did their duty and we see the consequence.... This fight was actually what I call an amazing epic fight scene

This development made me develop my character when it first came out, most of the things I thought were meaningless turns out aren’t, you aren’t the first nor the last to think the way you do, somewhere someday someone will choose to live like you, so with that I don’t mind death too much anymore, as long as humans keep on living someone will live my dream again

The thing with characters like him in really good animes, with no room to grow and immediately loved, developed early on, they're almost always going to be killed in the most heartbreaking circumstances as a plot device. Everyone with room for character development will become better for them, which will carry a depth of emotions upon success from joy and freedom, to longing and grief. And after learning that upper rank demons have not changed in over a century, my heart sank the second I saw Akaza. The perfect time to pull on our heartstrings, and the perfect thread with which to weave a net of revenge. Brilliant storytelling.

Man I cried. I thought the same thing about myself that I'm not enough. But hearing Rengoku's words are like a blessing. I don't want to remember some of the hashira and the members of Demon Slayer Corps death because its soo tragic and sad that it makes me depressed.

Erwin is probably one of the best leaders in media, sure he may have had some selfish motivation in his methods and leadership and may not have been perfect. But when push came to shove he convinced a few dozen soldiers to ride into the face of death and led them there himself, sacrificing those same selfish goals to win the war.
