So to make a pile in move you have to select a unit to fight. You can only select a unit to fight if it made a charge move or is in engagement range of an enemy unit. So if you made a charge and you can get into engagement range with a pile in you can do so. If you did not charge and you are not in engagement range you cannot be selected to fight.

Yes you can use stratagems on units that are in reserves as a core rule

Good evening my friend thank you I’ll ask Sam to answer this one about GSC

GSC have alway struggled with aggressive opponents. It is one of there main weaknesses. Things I have found to help are using normal anti combat screening tactics. Having lots of scouting units and Infiltrators helps. Then as you opponent moves into the middle, making a strong play behind there forces that they then have to turn around and move back to stop, can free up time and space for your units to move up. With GSC you have to go into most game expecting to get almost complete wiped out but your aim is to delay, district and do just enough damage to win on score. If you're focus on Brood Brothers many tactics that Astra Militarum armys use could be useful to know and see if you can adapt them for your play.

@alistairmacrae4993 true that’s what them mechanics should not be in the game in my opinion. I wouldn’t mind if they were free re rolls but having that sort of knowledge before a dice is rolled is too much

I think world eaters are extremely good and you have to work out how to play around them sometimes it’s just a bad match up in other games the vault picked more than its points against world eaters. Just depends I like the list but I’ll always try other lists

That was what I wanted to try. Was unsure if that squad was getting 215 points out of it? Most of my hard hitting units are either twin linked or eradicators anyway so dropped the Company Heroes & captain and the callidus and added another inceptor, intercessor squad and watch master to make the vets more vercetile. I think I prefer it.

@@georgehutleyhave you tried Dev Cents, Eradicators, JPIsx3, and 3 units of 10 Sternguard in drop pods? With their Dev Wound bolters, they have volume of fire. With Tome, they can kill baneblde equivalents. I know the pods can be a liability.

Unfortunately I overextended them and didn't screen feom the rapid ingress so they weren't great. Normally they are a menace.
