Thanks that's really good. Getting off the top piece with the handle and buttons is definitely the hardest part! I have problem with the optical sensor on the side (I think) so I'm not sure if it's the conroller that I need to replace. How does a controller with no moving parts even stop working anyway??? Beyond my very limited understanding of electronics....thanks for the video.

Both efforts failed to find the correct battery I own a Lenser M7R flash light torch. The battery degraded so I ordered new batteries. The old Lenser rechargable Li-Ion cell was rated at 2200mAh 3.7V 8.14 Wh The recently bought Li-Ion cells are rated at 3200mAh 3.7V and it doesn't work in the M7R after a proper charge . The replacment battery is the same size in physical dimension. Anyone care to help me understand why?

Very good info and great images, too. I was having a problem with my Breville, identical to the model shown here, (although mine is labeled as model CT75XL) and this helped. To contribute a little, I will describe my problem and its fix, using these excellent images. My machine had power, lit up, but the plunger would not stay down. I de-energized, opened, cleaned, but still had the problem. It turned out that issue was that the switch contacts had become misaligned. Here is what I mean: When you push down the plunger, it carries down a kind of wedge. You can see the wedge at 2:04 of the video. It is the white plastic piece right about in the middle of the shot, that looks like a really small, short section of rain gutter. The switch is four flexible copper strips held upright attached to the yellow plate visible in the middle at 1:54, with the strips seen right at the top of that shot. You can also spot them just to the right of the green circuit board visible at 2:12. The way it works is that the two strips in the middle are forced apart by the plastic wedge when the plunger comes down. In being forced apart, the left middle strip comes into contact with the left outermost copper strip, and the right middle strip is likewise pressed against the outermost strip on the right. In my machine the left outer and right outer somehow had got bent outward a little so the middle strips could no longer reach them. I very gently bent them to be more vertical, so they touched with the wedge down; and all is well - and crumb-free.

Use hot hot water, bicarb soda, and a coarse towel. Cut towel in squares and dunk into solution. Rub away lightly at mold. Don't re dunk the towel, use fresh piece every time. Your welcome.
