Ok one thing you forgot to mention is when its cold out side is when you go to the pantry its cold you stand outside also the same at crocketts. When you go to the log cabin pancake you stand out on the porch but theres a heater above you so you stay warm while waiting. You never got the same food at the resturants so you really didnt compare much. You didnt try the eggs or taters at logcabin

Hi, came across your channel a couple days ago and just want to say thank you. It is exactly what me and my wife needed. We are from the UK and slowly planning our future trip to the smoky mountain region to have our family type dream cabin holidays. Couple years away yet type holiday. Anyway once again, thank you for the videos. Making it easier for us tourists who have yet to experience the region.

I'm so glad your channel exists. Video after video have been exactly what I'm looking for. Keep up the great work! This was perfect to see it all broken down for a Dad who has three kids 10 and under. I honestly had no idea they had roller coasters for kids at Dollywood.... If you don't mind me asking, since I didn't see it in the video. If my kids are scared of the adult rollercoasters, is there any reason I should buy the TimeSaver pass? (we are going during the beginning of October which I hear is a busy time there). Thanks for the tip!

Thanks so much for the kind words! I’m glad to hear these videos are helpful! Personally I wouldn’t recommend it… even if they did like coasters most of them in the park have a height requirement to ride that most younger kids won’t meet. If you have another adult with you I would lean on the Parent Swap program the park has instead. I would encourage you to download the Dollywood app before you arrive too. It’s actually pretty good and very helpful. Lastly, head left when you enter the park to the “measuring station” where the kiddos can be measured and assigned a color coded wristband to allow you to easily see which rides are designed for them. It makes it a lot easier to figure out which ones they will be able to enjoy. Hope this helps!

Family style is dumb. My wife doesn't eat nearly as much as me, and agreeing on what the foods are would be a challenge. And the kids, too? Shelling out $25 per person (plus drinks and tip) for food we're not all excited about is not a recipe for my business. Sorry, Paula, but it's a no for me. Taking that tourist dollar, though! Whoop!
@VisitingGatlinburg-PigeonForge13 күн бұрын
We certainly don’t see many family style restaurants. I think it’s for that reason!
@irwingreen776414 күн бұрын
The food is good and there's lots of it with huge portions. Our family is grown and there's just two of us now so the amusement stuff doesn't interest us. Azul is within sight of Guy's and if you like Mexican you'll love Azul!!! If you have a small group get the Tomahawk Pork Chop and Nacho Azul appetizer and share it all! Amazing stuff and you can thank me later. Lol
@VisitingGatlinburg-PigeonForge13 күн бұрын
Nice! I love Azul! I actually visited it and made a video that's coming out soon - It's by far one of my favorite spots in town. The Nacho's were awesome - but I'll have to try the Tomahawk next time I'm there! Thanks for the tips!!!
@irwingreen776414 күн бұрын
We've been there every time of year and our favorite time is the first whole week in January! You've got the whole place to yourself, no traffic, no crowds, no lines, CHRISTMAS LIGHTS STILL UP, and the lowest motel rates of the year! We stay at Howard Johnson's downtown for 5 nights (Sun-Fri) for $40/night and $200/5 nights TOTAL !!!!! You can walk to everything in Gatlinburg and pay for no parking!! (BTW, eat at Seasons 101- for the chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries, Azul for the Tomahawk pork chop, LeConte Tapas-for everything, and Olga's Yodel for fabulous cinnamon rolls & the Donut Friar for donuts.) Fabulous vacation!
@VisitingGatlinburg-PigeonForge13 күн бұрын
This is awesome advice! Thanks for sharing!!! I've never been to Olga's Yodel before - That's super high on my list of things to do this week now. LOL!
@irwingreen776414 күн бұрын
We've been to Crockett's twice and the only thing they had going for them was the AMOUNT of food you get but it is mediocre at best. It's like Cracker Barrel on steroids. Same food, just more of it. It's just hard to mess up eggs, ham, & biscuits and they all taste about the same everywhere. So we heard ravings about the cinnamon roll and we got ours to go and it came with no icing! (Go to Olga's Yodel if you want a truly great cinnamon roll). We've been to Log Cabin several times and it was mediocre at best too on everything we got. Pass. If you've been to Pancake Pantry before then why on earth are you ordering anything other than their specialty pancakes???? You should know better! Nobody is even close to them in Pancake World! Lol. (Plus the French Toast is awesome!) Next time be smarter and compare apples to apples and put Crockett's against Old Mill, Five Oaks, and Applewood for the best down home country breakfast. But in pancakes, the Pantry's signature pancakes stand alone. The rest we can get similar around hime but pancakes Pantry good, are only at the Pantry! BTW, that thin runny syrup is what REAL maple syrup looks and tastes like.
@VisitingGatlinburg-PigeonForge13 күн бұрын
LOL! I mean... I had to try something other than the pancakes! 😂 Thanks so much for sharing. You're not wrong at all - if you're looking for Pancakes - the Pancake Pantry is where it's at!

@@VisitingGatlinburg-PigeonForge Next time go to the Pantry and get the French Toast, it's a food-gasm waiting to happen. Lol. Some lady told me to try the orange-walnut pancakes & they're excellent too but never something I'd have ordered on my own. My wife says you need to also get a side of crispy bacon to balance out the sweet/salty stuff. Lol. Seems to make her happy. We enjoy your Vlogs.

I'm kind of a syrup snob. Thick syrup usually means 100% high fructose corn syrup. Light, 'watery' syrup is likely a natural maple syrup. Do you have any idea if maybe the last restaurant was 100% maple syrup?
@VisitingGatlinburg-PigeonForge19 күн бұрын
TBH - I don't exactly remember... but I think it was more like a natural maple syrup! I do love me good syrup!
@leebowitz198719 күн бұрын
Yep it’s expensive but so so worth it. I bet most places might mix in a bulk hfc based syrup with a little real maple syrup just to save money. That or they add various ingredients that imitate the real thing. I think when our family goes later this month we’re going to choose Crocketts because of the atmosphere and the food presentation-it really shows forth the quality ingredients. That and I saw on another video they also do buckwheat pancakes (my fav!) I’m probably going to go with corned beef hash too like you did. Thanks for the video!

Mrs. Deen if you ever read this and really want to taste great chicken fried steak and are near BUFFALO go to the Yelling Goat maybe the Chef & owner there would show you how. Same goes for the best pot roast that would be the Pearl St. grill.

If you want a break from Carnival attractions, visit on of the largest Arts and Crafts locations in North America. The Arts and Craft community off Glades Rd is really nice and makes many wish Gatlinburg had more of that than all the Mountain Coasters, Chair Lifts and Carnival Attractions over taking the area.

Nope, I prepare our meals the majority of the time, and most of our family gatherings. Difference between you and I…. I don’t expect 5 star restaurant experience in an overcrowded Carnival tourist area. A chain restaurant surrounded by Go Cart tracks and putt putt golf can only be so good. It was fine as far as Carnival Food goes. Celebrities with their name on restaurants have little to nothing do with the service and menus…. It’s a gimmick to get people in the door….. Fact

We were at The Island location in April and left very disappointed. Had better meals at lesser known places. First the food was cold. The Mac n cheese was tasteless and the pot roast was so salty we couldn’t eat it. We also saw people taking dessert to go so asked our waitress for this as well. She very rudely said she’d have to take our food away before giving the dessert to us. Then came back and threw the bag on the table. I guess they’re worried about people stashing the food in the dessert bag which was knotted. Never again. I guess my expectations were too high.
