On a .22 rimfire I’d rather have a .25 rather than .36 value so it’s MOA for me. But it’s the initial zero that’s most important so if you’re.25 off then MOA is better and if you’re.36 off then mils is better. One more thing, when you hold off you don’t need to think in mils or MOA, think in inches of movement needed. It’s fast and it’s exact. I’m speaking from my perspective as a Squad Designated Marksman Instructor assisting the USAMU deliver SDM Training where both MOA and mils are found to be needed knowledge for range calculation, wind counters, bullet drop compensation, and zeroing.

Good tip, very good. It shows me what I used to become aware of via annotations in score books. At any rate, for me the most critical application for getting all external ballistics right has been the 300 yard prone rapid fire stage of US Service Rifle Competition where there are no sight-in shots permitted.

MOA is better in all manner: ranging formula, bullet drop compensation, wind counter formula, and zeroing. That’s not me saying so, it’s the USAMU teaching it to SDM students for use shooting SDM rifles which have iron sights and optics adjusted in MOA.

Funny to hear people debate about redicles and what is better. If you're using your reticle to range and/or holdover, it does not matter. MOA and MRAD are equal. If you are using your turrets to zero, then yes, MRAD is simpler to understand. It is a Ford/Chevy debate.

I have one build with a Dan Lilja barrel. When I bought it I didn't know all of his barrels are button he no longer uses broach , says it takes more time and isn't any better . True. If you are using the reticle it makes no difference. You are using the reference marks in the scope to determine a better firing solution for a follow up shot. We are arguing what the unit is called. It could be 1 MOA or 3.5 mils. We could measure it in orangutans for all I care. MOA is a little more precise though which is why I use it. 1 click on my turret is .25 but in mile it’s .36 🤷🏽‍♂️🦧
@charlesludwig9173
@charlesludwig9173 10 күн бұрын
@@sportsmanslegacy here’s the truth: if your zero is off by .25 inches at 100 yards then MOA scaled dials is best. If your zero is off .36 inches at 100 yards then mil scaled dials is best . If you’re .31 inches off it likely does not matter if dials are MOA or mils. But there’s no doubt after zeroing, bullet displacement in inches at target distance is better described in MOA than mils, since an MOA is about 1 inch per hundred yards.

How do you know your eyes capability low light?
@tractoptics1120
@tractoptics1120 3 ай бұрын
The pupil of your eye dilates from 2mm in bright sunlight to 7mm in darkness....your pupil is approximately 4-5mm in low light situations. You need the binocular to provide an exit pupil of the same size. You calculate exit pupil if the binocular by dividing the objective by the magnification - 10x50 = 5mm

The bottom line for you is that the earth's atmosphere does not allow us to witness the coriolis effect on earth. (Unless it's a bullet for some reason) But they also claim that earth definitely produces the coriolis effect. This means all of your demonstrations are useless because they claim that the specific coriolis effect created by earth is different to our other examples like using a roundabout, due to the atmosphere. you've hijacked coriolis basically. If you type 'coriolis effect' into Google, it will respond with talk of earth spin and heliocentrism etc. But the coriolis effect is simply when the observer has an additional reference frame due to them leaving the initial reference frame. While spinning, if you throw a ball off a roundabout you will see it arc away from you, simple as that. This just does not happen on earth. This is how irritating helios are, they will agree that the coriolis effect is when you throw a ball off a roundabout and it arcs away from you, they will also claim that earth can demonstrate the coriolis effect, but when i throw a ball in the air on earth it doesn't arc away from me, it comes straight back down! No deviation! Then the Helios say, "well it can't be a ball, it needs to be a bullet from a gun" (something you cant measure, you're so slimy). So then you say , "well an airplane travels as fast as a bullet, so therefore we should see deviations in the aircraft's path when it leaves the ground."... "No", say the helios, because the earth's atmosphere 'holds the airplane to earth's reference frame". This means that You Retards actually believe that when I throw a ball up into the air, the wind and other atmospheric forces are forcing the ball to remain in my reference frame, so it comes straight back down. You believe the same happens to an airplane, you believe that the reason the plane doesn't leave earth's reference frame when it leaves the ground is because the wind is literally forcing it to remain in our reference frame. This is just fantasy. But this is the argument you will have with them regardless of any videos you show. Basically, they made it so you can't win because earths coriolis effect is 'different' due to the atmosphere, and this can't be demonstrated.🧐

Generally, the finer the gradations, the more accurate the measurement......i.e. would you prefer to use a ruler graduated in inches or in 3.6 inch increments? Since almost all Americans have an accurate mental picture of 1/4", rather than 1/10 of 3.6", it would seem that the MOA reticle would be preferable. Example: You are shooting 1/2" below your target at 100 yards. Would you rather adjust up two MOA and be on dead center, or up either 1 or 2 MIL and be either below or above dead center?
