Been learning this in my lessons too. I’m an arms guy and the hip bump allows me to initiate my swing and start the drop of my arms so they’re not over the top. It’s a new feeling but has been a real good change

Yeah not often :) Only when you dont have much space to let it roll.....perhaps a tucked back pin over a ridge......only every once in the while do you pull the super saucy one out :)

Great vid! I struggle with this a bit too. My question is what do you do with the trail (right for a righty)knee? I realized that I was trying to ‘push’ off my trail foot & bank it, which would kind of cause me to early extend a bit & stall rotation.

My sense from taking up golf again after decades away from and delving back into my golf instruction library and the KZfaq rabbit hole, that golf uses both the body and the arms and hands. But it is primarily the hands and arms that produce speed. The body movements must ENABLE the arms and hands to move quickly. Also, comments from famous golfers, especially from Ben Hogan, are often taken out of context to suit the instructor's biases. It is the sequencing of the body and the arms and hands that is critical.

If you play on a course that’s not ideal condition where you won’t get the good spin, is a premium ball any better that a 2 peace ball? Is it worth paying the extra money for a premium ball if you don’t get the spin from playing from a perfect lie?

@@Charzander570 At my local public course (Australia) you wont get a single ball to spin even with a brand new T24 wedge and every ball from ProV1x, Srixon Zstar XV, TP5, you name it. The green and ground here just isnt going to allow the ball to grip. At best it might check a *little* bit. If your local is like mine, dont waste your money, just get some Srixon Q-Stars or equivalent golf ball. These greens here only grip in the winter when its soft, green and moist.

Eric, are you somewhat backing off the stack and tilt system? Or would you still prefer stack and tilt as your primary teaching focus? Because weight shift certainly goes against stack and tilt philosophy.
@PerformanceGolfZone7 күн бұрын
Hey! I dont have any hard and set rules (never have). I like the player to start about 50/50 or 60/40 left with an iron. Then there is a pressure shift in feet to right to about 70-80% by around lead arm parallel (note thats pressure in feet not mass of body). From there everything working forward ... Heres another good one on this: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mdeDrJaIvqmceIU.html

The great MIckey Wright started her swing by pushing the handle away and letting the clubhead lag behind. Instead placing another ball behind the ball she was going to hit, she placed a tee about 12" behind it and made sure to knock it over on the way back. She also delayed her wrist cock. When her hands were just about waist-high, there was still a lot of lag with the clubhead. Her wrist cock occurred at the top of her swing. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q6uieK2DkrC6eKM.html
