Unbelievable actress. She knew exactly how to play that character. I had some relatives in NW Florida, who thought, acted, and dressed like Martha Corrine all the way into the 60's. They've all passed beyond, and we will never see their like again! Of course I was very young then. I wish That I could have a few minutes just to sit on the porch with them and talk about their times.

FDR was a good man. But, his policies unwittingly set this Country on a course that would only, could only, spiral downward and usher in the immorality, narcissism, division, and lack of patriotism.

Years after watching the first episode of MASH as a child and this show still makes me laugh, but parts like this, they make me cry because I FEEL the raw emotions from the acting. At times I'm not even sure the actor is acting when it comes to parts like this. That is why this will always be a beloved show for me. Even in 2024.

What a great actress Ms Bondi was. I remember this episode so well. Youvkbow when someone has to leave their home that they spend most of their lives at, it hurts so much.She played this part so wonderfully. RIP Beulah Bondi.

My great grandpa was born and raised in Lexington North Carolina, he told me during 1945 when he was 7 or 8 years old, his family walked miles to see the FDR Funeral Train pass by Salisbury and he claims he witnessed a soldier, a marine, a sailor, a coast guardsman, and an airman standing beside of President Roosevelts casket. It's outstanding to hear such a story from your own kinfolk.

One of my favorite scenes from the entire series. Mrs. Bondi in this scene is simply amazing and Richard Thomas as well as he listens to her in silence.

Mary Ellen was a strong woman who knew what she wanted and didn't try to use feminine 'wiles' on a man. She had grit and a backbone like her grandma. Curt was the perfect match for her. Love those two ❤

@sbella67192 ай бұрын
@@nancydavis4618 you think so? I always thought of her as defiant because she never wanted to fit the mold that was expected of women in those times, like when grandma insisted on that quilting party for her. I felt Mary Ellen was ambitious and dreamed of a world beyond Walton's mountain. I liked David but felt Curt understood her and knew how to deal with her as a husband and a doctor. Really hated when they killed him off and brought back a completely different character. Sorry if I came across as disagreeable😊. I was just super excited to see this clip on KZfaq. One of my all time favorite TV scenes at the beginning.

Forrest: (answers to Lieutenant Dan) I didn’t know I was supposed to be looking 👀 for Him, sir. (Lieutenant Dan turns off the 📺 TV; he picks up ⬆️ and puts down the whiskey 🥃 bottle) Jesus this and Jesus that. Have I found Jesus? They even had a priest to come and talk to me. He said “God is listening 👂.” But I have to help myself. Now if I have to accept Jesus into my heart ❤️, I get to walk beside Him in the Kingdom of Heaven. Did you hear 👂 what I said?!
