The tele converter lens: amzn.to/3XN993r And wide angle converter lense: amzn.to/4eJESZx Will give you the equivalent of 28mm and 50mm on top of your existing built-on 35mm (23mm). I have other videos that feature those in the Fujifilm playlist. Happy shooting!

I tried to love this cam…but Xt5, when both eyes are vsible, 40% of the time focused on the back eye…also the af (with Fujis best LM lenses 23 & 33) with a subject walking towards the camera (in normal speed) showed around 20% sharp images….love fujis rendering for colour, but their af even in xt5 is a disgrace…it detects but doesnt actually autofocus as youd expect it to… And Fujis Bokeh rendering even in their highest end lenses is just dirty often…as i mainly shoot weddings i simply couldnt rely on this system to deliver on a wedding… Also im Not sure if i prefer Nikon or Fuji colour…both are leagues beyond Sony and Canon imo…

I totally get you! I've been shooting with Fuji cameras since the original X-100 came out 13 years ago, and while their autofocus has never been their strong suit, the colors, shooting experience, and film simulations are where Fuji really excels. For those reasons, I also switched to another system when I need highly reliable autofocus.

I'd say the most important thing it's to have fun and enjoy yourself. Also, don't beat yourself up if you make a mistake - there will always be other opportunities and mistakes are the best way to learn - which leads me to my final piece of advice: remember to switch off image stabilisation when using a tripod. I wasted an entire night of astrophotography at a dark sky site because of that. 😂

I've had the Q2 reporter since it first came out. It's the best camera I've owned. As you pointed out, it's menu system is the best. I did experiment with a Ricoh GR IIIx, but I couldn't deal with it's menus and sold it. My "serious" camera is a Leica M10-p, which I love, but it lacks image stabilization so I now use the Q2 almost exclusively. Thanks to your review.

Best in class menu system! I would also add the companion iOS app which has the most intuitive user interface.

Here's my advice Fred for anyone out there hunting the streets. Street photographers need to invest in extremely comfortable sneakers to walk and explore the surroundings they are living in. The more you walk, the further you go, and the more you encounter those candid moments. Cool video Fred 🫡

Currently using a XT3 for live streaming and nothing else. I’m looking at the H2 and the XS-20 but I don’t know which way to go.
@FredRanger
@FredRanger Ай бұрын
If you don’t need the weather sealing, bigger body and 4K 120 fps, the XS-20 can definitely do the job! My only gripe would be the micro HDMI port, but if it’s only for livestreams, you might end up only using the USBC port anyways.

Q2, Q2M or Q3 for B&W photography?

All of them are good options, but nothing beats the monochrome sensor for B&W photography. So my choice would be Q2M.

Great interview, and helpful. It almost tempted me towards the SL3, but did not quite seal the deal. I still think the SL lenses are way too big. And the SL3 body is not needed on top, if I already have an M and a Q. I’m hoping to see what an SL3-S will look like.
@FredRanger

Thank you for the feedback! It is noticeably smaller than the SL2 body, but you ate right. Those lenses are quite big. Another option is to adapt M glass on the SL and benefit from IBIS and that great EVF. Cheers!

It depends on your budget, but the Q2 used is a very good option! Given the nature of what I do, I would personally go for the Q3 though as the tri-resolution and tilt screens would be useful to my shooting style.

More precisely: MP4 h.265 AAC 48 kHz/16 bit h.264 AAC 48 kHz/16 bit MOV: h.265 LPCM 48 kHz/24 bit h.264 LPCM 48 kHz/24 bit ProRes LPCM 48 kHz/24 bit

Yep. M11P was my re-entry into Leica Land after a long break. Sold my M6, M8, M9 combo back in 2012. Seriously happy with the new camera. Shooting since 1983, used film Blads, R series Leicas, pro DSLR’s and then high end digital when I operated my studio. The M11P puts all my past cameras in the shade!!! Fond memories of those cameras, especially the Blads in the film era,, M6, then the M9… awesome. The M11P though, well it’s just amazing.

@FredRanger 3 ай бұрын
Great to see that after all those years you are “coming back home” ;-) The M11 series is truly unique in the landscape of modern digital cameras and it’s in part why it is so appealing. My current trio is the M6, Q2 and M10R, but I am tempted to consolidate to the M11P. Time will tell!

Looks like being the story of life. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. The ecosystem is good. The quality is good. The images are good. The kit can be light enough. Some complain about AF, some about menu. The choice is yours. If you like photography for what it is and you’re an amateur, you don’t really need more. If you’re a real professional, need a workhorse and a pro service for your lenses, you might consider looking into Nikon and Canon. But you wouldn’t be asking. I understood that it’s a no more than a tool. Every brand nowadays will get you good results out of camera. The rest is up to you. There’s not much left stepping up camera-wise: Leica, Hasselblad and lenses. Other lenses. Lenses, lenses, lenses. Go out and paint with light and stop seeking for the holy grail loosing money 😊
