Cucuzza steamed with tomato and plenty of garlic will make a lovely stew then you need a loaf of italian bread to push the juice around. Got started with these by an old italian gardener. His trellis is permanent, goes up 6 feet and over/down the other side. He pulls the fruits down through the horizontal section and gravity makes then 4ft long and straight. I have a lesser trellis but I'm hoping for similar results. If I get lots, I'm going to try some of them serpent style. That's the natural shape.

I watched this video to see how it's done but I noticed that your plants have white flowers and mine has yellow like the zucchini , it said they were Cucuzelle /Cucuzza ? Help.
@MaryMakes3 ай бұрын
Interesting. In my experience Cucuzza has always had white flowers. It’s a gourd that pollinated naturally by moths. There are some similar vining squash like Zuchinni Rampincante that has yellow flowers. What does the rest of your plant look like? Cuccuzza has extremely soft leaves, like very soft! They also put out these long curly tendrils.

Thanks for posting this. I've been working on two throws 60x60 from Marine fatigues. I looked and looked for KZfaqs to help me get started and procrastinated for so long that the Marine is being sent out of the country soon. Nothing like a deadline to get one moving! I agree with your cutting tips and found that the rotary cutter did the best job. I appreciated your tips on the quilting and will definitely switch to a denim needle for the quilting. I'm not using batting and am trying fleece for the back. We shall see how this works. Since my quilts are just throws I'm hoping for the best! Thanks again for the great info.
@MaryMakes5 ай бұрын
You’re welcome. And yes I agree a deadline will definitely kick me into high gear too lol. I think the weight of the fatigues combined with fleece backing would probably work fine for a throw.

❤ your patterns. I made the host apron and it turned out amazing. I an getting ready to .are this apron and make it lo ger for an adult - since the pocket is included in the seam allowance on the bottom, you would need to add the same amount to the pocket, correct?
@MaryMakes5 ай бұрын
Yes you can either lengthen the pocket to Have a deeper pocket or if you don’t add to much length you could keep the pockets the same they’d just be a little lower down in the torso.

You can also use some parchment paper over the top of shirts to press so they don't melt
@MaryMakes5 ай бұрын
Yes good tip! As long as your iron is not too hot. Sometimes it can still melt onto the parchment 😬 it really just depends on the quality of the image that’s printed into the shirt. Some thick prints melt extremely easily and others don’t melt at all. I prefer to err on the side of caution when working with items that don’t belong me and avoid it all together.

I've watched lots of videos before deciding which apron to make. I love yours and this is probably the one I'll make. It has to be a hostess apron, which is exactly what you call yours! 🙂 If I want to add a frill to the bottom, would I just do that before I add the back piece? AND, how many times the length of the bottom of the apron, would you recommend, please? TIA.
@MaryMakes5 ай бұрын
Yes you can add trim at that step before you sew the backing on. Make sure you pin the trim out of the way so you don’t accidentally sew through it when you stitch the backing on. To measure the length of trim just line it up along the bottom edge of your apron fabric and cut to fit. Hope that helps and thanks so much for the kind word!
@muse-o5 ай бұрын
Thank you, @@MaryMakes. To get a frilly frill, how many times the width of the bottom of the apron, would I need to use? Say, 1.5, 2, or even 3? The only apron I have ever made was a very plain gingham one, in the second year at high school (ie aeons ago)! 🫤😂 There were no frills on that! 😉
