I just visited Nanjing Street and there are so many interesting shops there, like the first Apple store to be in China and the neighboring Huawei and Samsung stores. It’s certainly a very busy place, busy at nearly all times of the day even when all the big stores close at 10 PM! At night, with the lights of the Pearl Tower and the glowing green domed roooftop of the Peace Hotel, it’s certainly a beautiful place. Even though this video was only uploaded four months ago Nanjing Street seems different somehow, I think there’s more shops and restaurants. Thanks for showing what one of the busiest streets in the world is like, to people who haven’t seen it before! 🙏👍

There are homeless people and graffiti on the American subway, but these homeless people have votes and enjoy democratic freedom. Graffiti is a spontaneous artistic inspiration for the public. The subway in China is very large and clean, and the authorities hire cleaners from impoverished areas at a low cost, even forcing them to work overtime. They have no votes, no democracy, no freedom. Although China has beautiful subways, its people are still very poor. You see people in the subway wearing decent clothes, that's their only set.
@DuckTravelWalker3 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching the video and for sharing your insightful observations on the differences between the American and Chinese subway systems. While I appreciate your perspective, I want to emphasize that the focus of this video is to showcase the impressive Shanghai Metro System and its vast network of stations and ridership. It's important to remember that appearances can be deceiving, and people from all walks of life use public transportation for various reasons. The majority of commuters on the Shanghai Metro are hardworking individuals, whether they are workers, civil servants, or tourists. In a city like Shanghai where car ownership is common among the affluent, taking the metro is a practical and cost-effective choice for many. In cultures like China and Japan, dressing minimally while using public transportation is not necessarily a reflection of wealth or poverty but rather a practical choice for comfort and convenience. It's essential to consider the diverse reasons why people choose to use public transportation and not make assumptions based on appearances alone. Thank you for sparking this thought-provoking discussion.
