On clay you get the feeling that after one set with Borg the mere mortals would be exhausted. I really feel that to describe Borg as the father of modern tennis is no exaggeration.

Remember watching Agassi return and thinking that he just anticipates the placement of the ball and executes the return shot better than i've ever seen anyone else do in tennis.

Agassi's returns against Federer at the US Open sound like gunshots. He was just annihilating Fed's second serves

The combination of speed, endurance and athleticism was outstanding and even today looks almost unreal. On clay even the second best clay courter Vilas was no match against Borg in his prime, loosing the 1978 Roland Garros Final 1:6,1:6,3:6. Borg lost only 32 games in the entire 1978 RG tournament, to my knowledge still unsurpassed.

Powerwise, Safin for sure n1, but you have to add consistency, than Djokovic n1 Nadal, Agassi, Zverev, Murray also top notch…I do not think Nalbandian would top 5 or 10 in my list, but he was a great player

My all time favorite tennis player. IMO Bjorn Borg invented the modern game. There is a video on KZfaq that compares his forehand side by side with Nadal, Federer and Lendl. Nadal and Federer's forehands are almost identical to Borgs. Lendls is a bit different.

Yep. It's pretty clear to me the best of the wood era were Gonzales and Borg. They could do things/ made it look so damn easy. Laver was invincible for a minute, and he's one of the all time great competitors, not far behind. I didn't even exist on earth during their peaks, but I can just tell

Truly incredible. His movement is ground breaking for all eras of tennis. No one talks about this, at least not as much as it should be talked about. I have a tennis racket in my hand because of this man. It's not very often you see a rally that lasts almost 90 hits. The endurance is beyond human. Big thanks to Ecc Tennis Productions for this amazing video. Cheers! M

Totally not true. Federer, Nadal, Djokovic and many others are equal if not better at returning than Agassi was. You can't compare 8 grand slams to 20 plus slams.
@daniluzzu
@daniluzzu 11 сағат бұрын
@@TheTopspin77 Not at all. Nadal is excellent, Federer also great because of his ability to put his racket on most serves. Djokovic is the one that comes closest to Agassi, but his return is more about depth and giving the server a very difficult second shot, while Agassi would just go for clean winners off the return, and often make them. In terms of sheer miles per hour and angles, Agassi is still unmatched.

Just to be clear Federer has a congenital back problem and Nadal has knee problems neither of them would have survived the tour with the medical science of the 80's.In Borg's era they didn't even have MRI's.

If the title of this video was Top 50 Backhandball With Both Hands, Nadal would be 50th, I mean Nadal was placed among those players because of his tennis career Nadal's backhand is not pretty, he relies on carrying the ball, and he is the least skilled player in hitting the ball with the line. I can name 20 players better than Nadal at the moment in terms of backhands with both hands
