Hi! Hope you are safe and well. Reading about the recent luxury boat sinking. They say "lowering the keel" would have saved it. Didn't know this. Do you? Corycia has a deep keel that makes for a stable boat! Anyway stay safe. Maggie

Boat insurance only covers boat-on-boat collisions, THAT IS IT.

Interesting that the underwater hull looks almost exactly the same as that of a Rustler 31. Yet it's a completely different designer, SailboatData (I made their iOS app) shows. Nice boat!

Insurance claims are essentially agreements. Can I suggest you list specific points where they refused cover corresponding to the agreement?

Thank you for your comment. It was my fault,, I should have looked at the small print. My sail was destroyed in a storm. I thought a sail would be covered for such an occurence, but no!. I received this email: . With regards to the damaged Genoa, we regret to advise you that the policy has the following exclusion: Section 1 5 You are also not covered for loss of or damage to: 5.1 the Vessel’s sails as a result of them being split by the wind or blown away whilst in use Unfortunately, it would appear that the loss of the sail is not covered.

I find it very interesting that numerous presumably disconnected manufacturers and designers have honed down their small-but-seaworthy boats such that they appear to be very similar. e.g. your halcyon, triton 28, alberg 30, scandinavian folkboat, et cetera.

Yes, fair wind. You've done so well. We raced up and down in a big sea,for ages on Corycia outside Workinton,waiting for the tide, to get over the bar. But the engine was working then. Heck,thank goodness you are safe. Thinking about you. Phew.

These blogs are really interesting to watch daily, you're really showing what it looks like to just go for an adventure on a modest yacht. Weathering storms, keeping the boat together, overcoming things with a positive attitude - really well done mate. I would love to see you with a dedicated camera/mic setup, as im sure the sight of that island and weather would look spectacular.

Thank you. Yes, I am going to get a video camera when i can get some cash together. I am using an Amazon fire tablet, which is not very user friendly! Also I fi d it difficult to capture the rough weather and real height of waves, sometimes they are amazing!

I have a Taylors as well and I agree that the spirits can be dangerous in heavy weather. I have gone to using a small propane torch to preheat.

I am sailing near the east coast of Mallorca. Anchoring is not allowed in many places because of the endangered sea grass! Also without my engine working it is difficult to get to the few areas where I can anchor!

So true! I used to want to get somewhere fast, but realised that during high winds you just exhaust yourself. Also if you heave to in the right direction the wind will push you to your destination while you rest!

I went to an Indian grocery here in Aus. He has packets of Flavoured rice super cheap. Bought 40. But he also has loads of other stuff. Possibly worthwhile checking one out near you, or a middle eastern shop. Our grocery stores have very little good quality food these days and as you know....fresh has to be eaten straight away.

Yes, there is an Indian shop, not so far away. I love spicy food! Problem with rice is the length of time to cook, unless I use a pressure cooker. I also have Cous Cous and quick coom pasta...
