Help. I have never been able to make a successful cake. I tried this recipe, the top was burnt(not completely black) and the cake was so crumbly if fell apart when I tried to cut a slice. What did I do wrong? (It tastes good!)

First, after 20 min cover the cake with aluminum foil and second , do not cut the warm cake keep the cake in refrigerator for 6 hour for nice slice. Thanks for the comment 💖💖

Yes no butter no oil and no baking powder if you will add than 1tsp baking powder or use self raising flour thanks👍

After mixing your cream looks slightly thick at first, then when you apply it on the cake it is even more compact and thick, why?

I have never heard of putting almonds in banana bread. I'll have to try that. I love to put black walnuts in my bread. I live the strong flavor.

Butter should be put on the bread first. It keeps the sandwiches from getting soggy. I like to use a potato peeler to make paper thin strips of cucumber. It stays on the bread better. The round slices tend to slide.

Made the banana bread today. T turned out really well. I added chocolate chips to it. The only thing it was very blonde in appearance. I do live at high altitude so wondering if that impacted it.
