Africa is not poor because of colonisation. It is poor because of corruption and Western interference. The colonisation still has its effects, but in a country like Nigeria, where I'm from the British, used our resources and conscripted our men into their wars, and tried to tax women, but overall, the British modernised parts of Nigeria. Overall, colonisation destroyed the original systems that existed in Africa but made modernisation possible, and let's not forget, the only reason why I am not vary mad that my country got colonised is because the British and Europeans in general brought Christianity, the only true religion in the world. And for that, I am grateful, I do wish we had gotten Christianity under more peaceful circumstances, but it is what it is.
