Ed did not play guitar on this recording and he obviously did not play it on this video. his singing is kind of weird. it is more like whispering. reason being, this song is very difficult to sing. Ed sounds mono tone in it, or auto tone as some call it. I give it 2 stars out of five. why don't professional musicians just preform? like, without playbacks and crap. my God ...all that jazz about live performance and it is all cut and paste recordings. playback and loopers and crap. in my day we had a word for that ...Frauds.

Try Eddie Vedder’s live version at the Bob Dylan tribute. This one is really nice too.

His voice loses the punch and personality force of the song; it just seems reserved, sad and not of the spirit intended. Like, he sings the blood leaving the body and it’s just pointless. Obviously, Dylan is the best, but this cover is weak despite the holy words.

Good to see a major artist covering this, most now hide behind their corporate/brand enterprises for fear of alienating any of their consumers. That said, there's nothing in Ed's delivery to suggest Dylan's attack and contemptuous holding to account of these perpetrators. He's almost pleading at some points, Dylan would never do that. The guitar is too melodic and interrupts its own momentum, whereas Dylan chose a relentless strum for a purpose - the mechanistic death strum of war.!

Great cover. Let no man or woman take dominion over another. By force of arms, wile of deceit or weakness of spirit.

Bob Dylan interpreta con rabbia la canzone mentre Ed Sheeran ha un tono più dolente. Come se invece di rivolgersi ai signori della guerra si sentisse più vicino alle vittime della guerra. Forse è solo una mia sensazione.
