Did you reball a donor chip? If so using a stencil and paste how do you keep the stencil from bowing up from the heat? Cant for the life of me reball rhese things with thise thin stencils.
@SaveOurStuff
@SaveOurStuff Ай бұрын
I did not reball the donor chip myself. I bought it reballed from a seller. The chip has to come from a Switch, because there is firmware on the chip. If you buy it directly from China the chip will not work.

soft bricked software in this case.knew it from the beginning. better to factory reset the console to eliminate any problem and start fresh if possible. when you force it to go with cfw has bypass the software error and by doing the restart may have fixed itself.

False it’s not the WiFi chip all you do is turn off hold power 20 seconds and then turn it back good as new this just trying to replace unnecessary parts for no reason
@SaveOurStuff

sorry, but that is not true (most of the time). Tried that many times with this Switch and that didn't help. Look on the internet and most say it's the WiFi chip. Even Nintendo says the Switch has to be repaired if it has an orange screen. If yours was fixed just by hold power for 20 seconds, you're lucky. But if the problem keeps returning the WiFi chip has to be replaced.
@Jess-ut6yz

@@SaveOurStuffI just came here from the official “solid colored screen” tutorial. Nintendo instructs to hold power button down for 20 seconds, then turn the system back on and look for a new Update Thankfully even though my system was already up to date, off + on was the solution. I’ll use your tutorial if I need help again if that doesn’t work!
@SaveOurStuff
@SaveOurStuff 20 күн бұрын
@@Jess-ut6yz Yes, sometimes it's just a fault and a reset helps. But it's definatly the WiFi chip. The Switch I repaired in this video had a orange screen every time after a few minutes after restart. So if the problem returns, the Wifi chip has to be replaced.

not worth repair a blue screen switch. if it has damaged pads the board itself is unreliable especially if the chassis is bent. could have broken trace between the layers also. i stop taking in this type of consoles for repair. even if i can redo all the traces the console can still come back after a day because the user of the console is careless and blame you only because you touch it.
@SaveOurStuff
@SaveOurStuff 2 ай бұрын
You are totally right. The reason I tried to repair it, is because the customer came in with a broken lcd and didn't know it was a BSOD. The customer bought the switch for the accessoires that came with it and wanted me to try fix it. When I saw the BSOD I immediately told the customer this is probably a no fix. Like it was.

@@SaveOurStuff I mainly use these consoles to improve my skills, and they are perfect for learning how to do microwelding and microrepairs with traces that are even smaller than 0.1 millimeter. if one day you can successfully repair a console in that state then you can practically declare yourself a master. I have done several repairs like this and after several attempts I can now practically repair everything. the only downside is that it takes a very long time but the amazing feeling that comes from discovering that the repair was successful is indescribable. It truly makes you feel like a god.

The chips from Ali don't work, because they have to be programmed. The chips must come from other Switch boards. I buy my chips from a seller that takes them of donor boards and reball the chips. If you don't know a seller who sells those chips, you have to reball them yourself.

Update: It turned out the Switch was finally putting out 1080p. I didn't show you the tv out signal at the beginning, but that also had only 480p. Maybe the problem was already solved when I first replaced the PI3 chip. I didn't check that in the dock. After I stopped the stream I did put it in the dock and the output was 1080p.
