I don't think I've ever seen the hornpipe danced in a real Navy uniform (not including the cap and dance shoes, of course); but I think it looks cool. Is this guy in the US Navy? I really enjoy watching this performance, by the way. Pay no attention to the snobs and haters who think this should only be performed by Brits or pros.

Hi so I’m a highland dancer (I’m from Scotland so) for a hornpipe there are two different outfits, they are the same but different colours the white one and the dark blue one. It doesn’t matter what colour you have I have a white outfit my sister has a dark blue. The colour of the outfits don’t really mean anything! Hope this answers you question. :) xx
@ronaldwoodaman50282 жыл бұрын
@@nicolabeaumont5019 cheers! But the navy blue blouse the dance is wearing is an honest to goodness US Navy 2nd class petty officer (see chevrons over left bicept) complete with service ribbons (over the heart) and service stripes (left forearm). Might have picked them up from a relative or a thrift store.

MOTANKA DOLLS are ancient Ukrainian traditional dolls from thousands of years ago... It is NOT Russian. Russia did not exist then... The ancient Ukrainian Motanka Doll artform filtered into modern-day Russia...

With the exception of the cap, that's not a Royal Navy rating's No. 1 uniform; it's American.

not very good, dance wise, I was a male Scottish Highland dancer of championship level,23 years experience, representing my country in france, holland, belgium and germany as a professional highland dancer, my credentials are available from the scottish offical board of highland dancing, am really sorry to say this but he was just too weak, everything about his movements showed no strength or control

I didn't even know what an oasis was at the start of that day. I just wish there was a wikipedia article dedicated to this little miracle.

Sometimes the male to female ratio is a little off, and when that happens, we get weird soap opera situations going, where 2 males are after a female and she won't choose one. I watched this go on for a month, and it finally came to a showdown. the 2 males had a pretty nasty duel, and one guy lost his big tail feather. It's a shame because he's such a nice guy. The big question in my mind now is can he grow a new one and will he have any kind of a chance at finding a mate next season? if anybody knows, I'd love to hear from you. I've only known these critters for a little less than a year, and I'm still learning.
