The action of the film reflects the time when Shanghai was occupied by the Japanese. Therefore, this relationship between the Chinese and the Japanese is shown. Bruce Lee insisted that Chen be killed because this character was used to killing people himself and took many lives as well. Thanks for the broadcast!

I saw this in the theater the week it was released in 78. Some of the songs were released prior to the movie so a lot of the audience were singing along. Great memories.

In the book nobody lost their heads. Behind the Queen’s back the King would pardon them and tell them to disappear for a day or so. The Queen will forget and everyone is ok. Alice actually helped the three cards she met before to hide. The King was a smart man that worked around his wife’s short temper. The reason the R was important for the oyster was because at that time there wasn’t a way to keep them fresh. So the months that they couldn’t get oysters were the months that are too warm. May, June, July, and August. Too warm to keep them fresh enough to eat. MaRch was not a safe time for them. When the Rabbit called her Mary Ann it was a general way to call out to any female servant nearby. A specific name might not be nearby and might not hear it so, Mary Ann. That, and alot of the masters of mansions wouldn’t bother to get to know their servants. March Hare is specifically because it was in March it was breeding season for hares and they went “mad”. Mad Hatter is a little sad fact from the times of the book. Back then a hatter would have the cloth dipped in certain chemicals. Then in order to have it in a shape a customer can wear it they would put it on their own head till it became more solid enough to work on. Those chemicals were Not healthy. Over time the skin would absorb enough that the hatter slowly goes Mad. Most still worked. The tag was a size. Probably the particular version of his work. Alice looked a bit upset when the Rabbit called her Mary Ann. But why? Then I “went down rabbit hole.” And researched the different details I didn’t understand. Didn’t help that I read the book as well.

Glad you liked it! Here is some interesting trivia! This movie was going to be rated R, but the studio heads said they wanted it to be for a wider audience! You can tell: when Sigourney Weaver says "Screw that", you can tell by her mouth what she is really saying! Also, the announcer at the Con in the ending is actually the guy who voiced Pleakley from the Lilo and Stitch movies!

Nice watch along. This was my introduction to the franchise. I love that this was directed by Clint himself, and thought Sondra Locke did an excellent job as Jennifer. Love that it takes a detour to Santa Cruz. Great pick:)

Did anybody try asking the director Wes Craven when he was alive how the script to Vampire In Brooklyn made any sense? The movie might have been funnier if Eddie Murphy has just directed it himself. The movie did lousy in theaters, but I say Eddie Murphy did what he could with it.

1. YOU WILL CRY 2. Dabbs Greer/old Paul was ill during production, so his part was done later. He also played Reverend Alden on "Little House on the Prairie". 3. Hammersmith was not a good lawyer. (most likely a racial thing. It was 1935 SOUTH.) 4. In the book King briefly covers why the Chief and Del are on death row. 5. This movie was nominated for Best Supporting Actor (MCD) and Best Cast but unfortunately neither won. 6. Players in other King adaptations: Jeffery DeMunn: Shawshank Redemption, The Mist, Storm of the Century and William Sadler: Shawshank Redemption, The Mist. David Morse: The Langoliers. Patricia Clarkson played Margarat White in King's remake of Carrie". Needless to say, it was a much different part. 7. Goof: Electricity makes the body contract. Del wouldn't be able to scream. I know it' just for the movie because of the length of the execution scene. 8. IRL James Cromwell is a vegan and didn't want to grill meat for the BBQ scene but was told that in 1935 people actually ate meat so he agreed to have some on the grill. 9. RE Percy: Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. KARMA's a Bitch. BTW Kudos to Doug Hutchison for the great job of playing Percy. EVERYONE hates him. 10. John also rescues the other patients at Briar Ridge. 11. IRL both David Morse and James Cromwell are about the same height as Michael Clark Duncan (RIP). They used planks, a small bed and smaller chair along with trick photography/angles to make John look taller. 12 The scene where John takes Mr. Jingles for safe keeping before Del's execution, they used a real mouse, and it pooped on Paul's shoulder, and he brushed it off. 13. Now we know what the "leftover is fine" dry toast is for. 14 EVERYBODY cries and has to take time to reflect. Congratulations you just experienced. the GREATEST MOVIE EVER. (GOAT) 15. 4 words for you: Stephen King. You're WELCOME!

Omg i LOVE THE MARVELS! It’s like a comic book coming to life! The camera work, colors and the action! Omf Brie ❤ she delivered the best Captain Marvel ever - obviously Carol now is for the first time ever - on her own skin! Such a development omg! Her invulnerable hero side and her vulnerable humanity. She started jaded and tired with all the pressure on her shoulders, alone.. and ends up loving being part of a team! We saw more layers to Carol’s personality. She couldn’t act on her max power, always holding back, so they wouldn’t randomly switch. Plus the fact that the bangle Dar-Benn wore weakened her. That made they think about real Great team ups! Awesome. Oh Kamala oh boy!!!!! She’s a delight! Monica so cool! Everything here is amazing. Their chemistry is out of this world! Goose and the Flerkittens! ❤ The flaws are normal, nothing we haven’t seen in the MCU before. Love it so much! So good to see my fave Captain Marvel back ❤
