The player token you refer to as a bell with some confusion...is actually a lantern and might make more sense to carry one of those while walking the boardwalk at night. Though the Town Cryer use to ring a handled bell every hour on the hour, once upon a time ago, this leaves this suggestion to your own discretion.

I don't remember having the game when I was younger. It must have been my sister's but I kid you not I would listen to the tale growing up just for fun. I still have it somewhere. I know it by heart. His head may be in his hand with shame but this is PURE JOY to me! Hahah!

This looks like a really fun game. I like the vintage aspect of it. The English version sounds cool “petrol” for gasoline and paying the “rates” but I’d also enjoy the USA version. I’ll have to seek this one out. Great review here 👍🏻

My grandparents had Life when I was a kid but I never really played it, truly played it, and to this day never truly played it. What I did was take out the spinner and spin it over and over and over and over again. I guess you could say it was the first "fidget spinner" hahaha. I'm familiar with the spinner but that's about it, lol

Well well well... 25 years ago, I was involved in developing this game. I'm currently helping the Make-a-wish folk fulfil a wish, and mentioned that I'd been a part of this game, which they benefited from. So, I had to search and see what was online about it. Sadly, we couldn't make a success of it, but it was fun to do. I think the biggest challenge was drafting the rules doc, covering all the points and making it fit a single sheet of paper. I've still got one sealed copy left, but it doesn't seem to have gained any great value, so I might open it one day. It started when I met a new neighbour, who had an idea for "Monopoly in reverse". When he saw a game prototype I'd made, he shared his idea, and we got the local (Coffs Harbour) business angel organisation to come up with a main investor. I could go on... Maybe it'll be a chapter in my autobiography one day. Good to see it being played :)

This is a good version as it’s pretty much the same as the original 1960 version. In 1991 they changed the game quite a bit and continue to do so. Thanks for a great review of this version from the UK 😎
