For some reason YT decided to eat the meassage from @seanlewis9291 which read: "I don't think the knives and swords can break a door. It has to be an axe. And hello happy Wednesday." Well I didn't know that, thanks Sean! Sorry your message got digested by YT's voracious appetatite, luckily it still appreaed on my notification feed on GMail. Still it appears you can get fighter experience from attacking invulnerable doors, as I happened to discover. Something to keep in mind for the upcoming grinding session I suppose.

Yeah, Gothmog is the man. Saw some playthrough before where the guy took 4 of the worst. I'll take ranged heroes over melee almost every time. Playing again too. Emulator on PC

@ricodarooster heh, don't think it was you. I remember in my first winning playthrough, I took Wulf and fed him mana potions and had him cast light spells until he gained natural skills in wizardry. Infinite screamers, infinite rats, actually an easy game once you're into it. I still have many levels mapped out. The Amiga had a 6 button arrow pad, so you could do 90 degree turns with that and could speed anywhere with ease.

Nice I'm glad you took Gothmog. He's my favorite, looks like an Evil Jawa from A New Hope. Something like that. Anyway, I didn't think you would play this again so soon. Good luck! Especially finding the Hardcleave. That's a good axe, but I have no idea where it is.

I had this game as a kid but could never figure out what you were actually supposed to do to actually progress so I just wandered around the starting town.

I totally get it! The first time I played it I think I spent the first 3-4 hours in Tenebrae, talking to the locals and scavenging money to buy a weapon and armour. Eventually you get some hints on what to do. Old games were a lot like that

It's very good! I think the MD/genesis is quite underrated in this regard, some games have great soundtracks, Alisia Dragoon is another one I recommend

Gosh Astro, that's a good question 🤔 I don't think I will, not this time. I'm surely keeping Imoen when I get her back, she and Vaclav cover all the party basic needs. I'm avoiding evil characters, done it once and reputation management is very tedious for me and would make recording a slog. After that I'll see. And you know, when I'm around the chance for a mostly female group is very real 🙃

I think I had a Mega Drive (Genesis) collection for my XB360, it was probably the same on PS3. But even before that, I bought a similar collection for my PS2, which I still have. The Streets of Rage games are probably the best side scrolling beat'em up until the last CP2 Capcom games like D&D Tower of Doom and Shadow over Mystara

Do be careful, as you chose Tyrin over Karna. Also, did you get the Protect Ring?

I usually pick Karna, but a couple guides I checked some time ago suggest to pick Karna later as she's very fast to level up so I wanted to try that, but in hindsight I'd probably pick her first as a second healer makes things safer. Also, I don't agree with the majority of making Karna a Master Monk instead of a Vicar, for reasons I'll explain in the last few episodes of the series. About the Protect Ring, keep watching!

Here's a "life hack": If your special item gets damaged, place it in the caravan's storage then take it out. It will be restored for free.

Ah, bad luck, sorry to hear it. I had a game not working properly too (King's Bounty, it froze up right on stream!), and the cartridge slots don't feel quite right... I know another company, Retro-bit, make more consoles like this one and I was considering getting their SNES/NES/Genesis model instead of the RetroN... but as you said, it's a gamble! 2:16 That’s Purdue’s short sword there. Dropped by that first gnoll you killed. He’s the only gnoll you’ll ever find carrying a short sword. If you had clicked on it, you would have seen it had a name. Oh well, I think it's only worth 50 gp and a small amount of XP. Wow. You had to fight Bassilus and ALL the undead with him. If you play along with his madness he’ll kill them all for you, and you only have to fight him. But you took them all out in the first try anyway! Using Silence was a great strategy. Well done! 48:25 Branwen was just Held. It wears off in 7 rounds. However, she was likely also nauseated and that lasts longer. Resting will cure it. An Elixer of Health would probably cure it more quickly. You didn’t need to take her to a cleric. You really raked in a lot of experience points in this episode. 🙂

I never got to the maze underground. The last thing I remember playing was the meeting with the nobles where he was supposed to be named Duke, but wasn't. Cool to see what happens afterwards. Good series!

Hahaha. Yes, Kagain DID say "escort business!" 😄 It's too bad it's harder to play evil in BG1. The game is more geared toward good parties, especially with reputation bonuses for good parties, cost reductions in shops, etc, and penalties for low rep to the point of being attacked on sight if it's low enough, because some of the evil NPCs are really great characters. 51:37 Hahaha. Deja vu! Your added party banter made me laugh. Ah Kivan. He's my favorite NPC, but I wait until we're 4th - 5th level before I pick him up when I'm ready to go do the Bandit Camp. I love his versatility as an archer, tank, and his ability to charm random bears to fight with us. I prefer him over Minsc.

That timed quest is quite the drawback on Kivan, you run the risk of losing him for good if you're not aware of it. I'm glad you appreciate the party banter! I skipped on it in the last few episodes of the series as it takes quite a lot of time in post-editing. I'm quite proud of some exchanges I came up with, though 😁

I have Xan in my party this time. I've never taken him before so I decided to try him out this time. His doom & gloom makes me laugh. What spells Xan can't cast, my bard can. My party's reputation is topped out at 20 and he seems quite pleased with us, so maybe they changed his attitude about high rep in the last update? Good job taking down the group of women assassins. Valley of the Tombs is a really tough area for low level parties, especially since most of them find it by accident when they go out the back of Nashkel Mines and can’t get back in, and don’t realize how deadly this place is.

I'm glad they changed the reputation thing in EE. Had I known before when I started the playthrough I might have gone for Xan instead of Dynaheir, but in the end still finished the game with no hassle. A good reason for another go maybe? The female assassins are a tough encounter if they catch you unprepared, I remember spending an afternoon trying to defeat them the first time.
