The immediate impression is this bush is reduced to understory, species of very low palatability. UNlike many places only absolutely cleaned out browse tier you can see 100m through, and forest floor of bare dirt remains Something Sika Foundation "ecologist experts" & out there doin' it/language invention programs might need a bit of time to fabricate some reason why bush licked clean shows a fine job of game management. The mention of hybrids means illegal liberations, andihat contaminates the local genetic strains. Seldom improves it. & NZ has some really interesting breeds due to their original stock origin. Even the Thorndon Northern SI breed throws some very interesting heads, or did before guiding interests took the law into their own hands.

I hunted there once, one party flying out and one party flying in, all the time! I always got the impression that the place was flogged and never really got a rest from hunting pressure. Human scent all the time...
