Well done sir, informative and very entertaining, thanks for that! Palnatoki, pronounced Pallnatokee, was a exceptional figure in the nordic saga because his preferred weapon due his reputation was the bow and no northman liked the killing from the distance really. A man had to face his enemy on a shield length. Many of the tales around the Jomsvikings are even just tales and some theories suggest that the real Norseman looked down on the Jomsvikings with disgust at their heritage out of Baltic and Slavonic tribes in the lower ranks. Nobody knows when the term Viking was used in the first time but for sure not then . Harald Bluetooth took over the trust in christianity after missionaries cured his toothache. Wollin, the city where Joms was ,was declared by the Soviets 1945 to the GDR means Eastern Germany but Poland occupied it against Stalin...Best regards from Northern Germany Ludwig.

So many girls/women judged for choosing who they loved. So few men (none) judged for forcing young girls to have sex with them and bear them children. Still, it’s the men that go do we on history as heroes.

Jesse will. I think she probably had an abscess that burst. Its just frustrating that i only see her once every second night, in the shed or on my red bin, and she's completely black so i can see, AND she's always moving. Well thats good about the op, though it is frustrating that the wait is so long. I need to remember to make a gynecologist as it's been a year since my period. Hopefully one is available while I'm on leave xx

She was mad. That is certain but a calculated madness similar to psicopaths. About her being mannly is probably as a frustration because her husband was a bit of a coward. At least compared to her father. As a note it was not bravery against the savages. Most cultures had laws against killing women especially pregnant ones so it was a calculated risk if any. Also she probably tried to emulate one of the deities of the locals a canibal creature that looked at first glace as a pregnant woman which she succeeded.

In this era....life is too short. Only a few men can reach 60 or 70+ because there is too much war. Maybe rich men or powerful people in the clan can maybe...who knows

Ishida Mitsunari remained defiant until the end, even after losing the battle, upon reaching a shrine to take refuge for a time, when asked what he wanted, instead of asking for food or water, he replied with venom that what he wanted was, "Ieyasu's head!" He gave his reason for not taking his own life as further burdening Ieyasu. Finally, on the way to his execution, he refused a persimmon because he considered it bad for digestion. His escort was astounded, reminding Ishida he was to be executed that very afternoon, Ishida replied, "One can never know the future, so one should always look out for one's health."

He was always known for his unbending character! Have to respect he fought for what he believed in! So many legends and rumours, one was that Ieasu spared him, but alas I do think he was executed for his iron will and loyalty to the toyotomi regime.

Liath Wolf has a good video about this, too. Personally, I think the Weirs may have had an incestuous relationship, but all of the other things were likely fabrications to ensure that they would be punished, feeling guilty about their relationship. It is a fatal combo of mental illness, religious hysteria, and ptsd from the war, not Satanism. But sensationalism sells. "Reason is the Devil, Bobby Boucher."
