How is this machine for stippling and dotwork? Does it hit like a DK/coil? I’m looking for a new machine and between wand packer, flux max and acus. My style is mostly fine line and 3rl stippling/dotwork
@adamdarklord2 күн бұрын
This machine is amazing for fine line and stipple, especially with the 4.1 or 4.5 cam. The machine can good very slow and still hit hard. You can change to m mode on it if you want it to hit more like a coil

Kia ora Adam. Hope you well. I'm mainly doing Māori tattoo also called Tā Moko back home here in New Zealand which is mainly linework. I'm currently trialing those cams for Acus too... so.... for someone who mainly does line work these have made the Acus next level. Still yet to trial the 1 Dot but the 2 dot so far has done very thing I need to throw at the work needed for what I do. Who knows what they will do next... M1 - the gift that keeps on giving

Im after a new machine and your videos have helped sooo much. I normally run a sol nova from cheyenne with a steel grip.. Iv nailed it down to my top 3 . Love using 4/4.2 stroke machines . Tattooing both traditional, neo trad , solid black work In your opinion what would you rate these machines . From 1 to 3 , 1 being the top choice. - critical torque ( unfortunately no steel grips) - Neuma 5 flex - bishop wand Thanks dude !
@adamdarklord5 күн бұрын
I’d do Neuma 5 -packs color and lines good Torque 4.2 stroke - colors and lines good Packer wand - can do b&g and color With Neuma being the top of the list. The only thing with that machine is that it’s loud and lots of vibration. I don’t use it with 3rl because I prefer the Acus for that. But it packs color faster than any machine I’ve ever used and can do fat lines

I like the heavy rod guide with the disposable grip. But I also added that hole in the original rod guide. It's aluminum so it's easy to drill through. Definitely need the 4.1 brass cam.

Have you thought about making a video about accuracy of adjustable stroke machines? Slow mo cam against ruler back ground. I tried and it’s inaccurate af
@adamdarklord6 күн бұрын
I haven’t thought of making a video on it be I definitely should! I know that the more Chinese a machine is the more inaccurate the stroke length lol
@sushinktattoo13666 күн бұрын
@@adamdarklord yeah that’s for sure lol. Still cool how liner coils w/ 2mm throw can pull better lines. I could be wrong but I think mechanism matters more then throw. That’s what changes waveform the most. Not throw. How tall the wave shouldn’t effect line quality as much as what type of wave. Sorry off topic
@adamdarklord6 күн бұрын
@@sushinktattoo1366 yeah the mechanism makes all the difference. If you have an aluminum cam on a 4.0 stroke system it won’t put in ink as fast as a heavier brass or steel cam on the same system. When I think of stroke length I just think of how far I can stick the needle out and still pick up ink from the cartridge. I don’t try to think of it as the power it puts out as much. Stroke length can effect how punchy your machine is at lower voltages so that’s why a shorter stroke cal help with black and gray because the needle doesn’t travel as far so it feels more smooth. But you can achieve the same smooth feeling with a longer stroke machine if you turn the voltage up reducing the time between hits. But risks slightly more redness Those are my thoughts on it
@sushinktattoo13666 күн бұрын
@@adamdarklord exactly! I agree 💯. You know your stuff. Companies should entice us with mechanics. Not just 1 feature like stroke. Last thing I might add. I deleted my channel as there are too many videos already. But one thing for sure. Tattooers definitely need a technologically inclined person on KZfaq. Such as yourself. Russians have a Chanel that breaks machines down to full specs. The motor configurations and everything. Get to see what high end machines look like inside. I’m on my 3rd tattoo shop and not one person knows 2610 Faulhaber is in all of their top tier machines. Same one motor every time it says brushless on all brand machines. Vlad blad being the exception. I digress. Appreciate you time. Can’t wait to see what more vids you come up with

History of disappointment with stigma. They’re literally the only European company that I feel like their machines aren’t great. My thorn gave out after a few months. The force was just awful. They kept doing updates trying to fix it but I always hated it. I’d love the 18650 batteries. Have a ton of them from vaping. Think I told you before that mooch on the vaping forums always said to never use a usb port for charging. I honestly don’t remember why. I probably didn’t understand anyway. lol. But ya take your batteries out to charge them.
