Lets end the argument now. The RC-N1 has one major drawback, DJI has a list of phones that are compatible with the controller. My Pixel 6 Pro was on it when I got the drone and controller. That changed this month and one day I had could fly and the next day I had a white screen. The list now has only one Pixel phone and that is the Pixel 8 Pro. A new (used) DJI RC is enroute.

What I really want to know is how people feel about the sticks on each controller. Which one has the better feel, and ease of flight corrections? I'm not sure why people are so obsessed with 5 - 10 or 15 seconds here or there. Pick the controller you like best and go with it. I'm sure the younger crown likes the RC, but to us older guys, the N1 appeals to our "simple is better" mantra. To each their own.

for drones it seems less useful, but for Fixed-wing Drone it seems very useful especially with wings integrated with solar panels, Unlimited power, Unlimited distance and Unlimited range

Can you go into the transmission tab and turn auto off and lock it to the 4g network only? To avoid any kind of wifi interference in the area if that's the case? Can it be locked to the 4g network?

If you have any problems reset to manufacture settings. After changing settings many times following clueless youtubers I found myself in trouble. Let the factory settings ie dual automatic and it works perfectly. If you screwed up following too many youtubers, reset.

Interesting to see there’s no difference between the two controllers. I just did a similar test with a buddy and our results showed the exact same result as yours, I.e., no difference. We were Dji drone fans but have moved to another brand, mainly due to silly exclusions in their products which they charge premium prices to obtain and environmental reasons. For example, Dji don’t include a clean HDMI Out from most of their controllers, which is a showstopper for us in using their equipment. I know they have it in the RC Pro controller, but the price is extortionate and we could buy a good alternate drone just for the price of the controller alone. Other crazy examples mean you cant just buy the RC pro controller with a compatible drone rather than the standard controller, even if you wanted to. They force you to buy the standard controller bundled with the product (which you don’t want), and then buy the RC Pro as an additional add-on later! This is very poor business practice in a time where environmental awareness and wastefulness is so important. I’m not saying Dji’s products are bad, far from it, but their eye for what the customer wants and environmental awareness leave a lot to be desired. Hopefully they can sort these issues out, it wouldn’t take a lot of effort.

This is an awesome accessory for the dji drones. I hope they add to it to more of the drones. I feel like on the Mini 4 Pro, you could save some weight by just velcroing that module on plus some kind of bracket and that would be all you need to save some weight. But... What i really take away from this video, is that if they wanted too. We could just have drones using the 4G/5G cellular connection and get all the range we would need. I mean you get 4G in urban areas basically everywhere now..

Does anyone know if someone got the DJI Cellular Dongle 2 to work with other DJI devices like the DJI Avata. Im guessing they wont give it support for Occusync3, which is a shame... I think you should have "Maximum Capability" turned off in the iPhone Hotspot menu. The DJI RC2 has a modern android tablet inside and will connect fine with that turned off, and should increase connection speeds.

Gavin, it’s happened again yesterday 15/08/2024. I can’t fire the app after some updates yesterday. Pixel 7 android 14. App version 1.13.10.

So if I have an iPhone connected to 4G. Do I need to buy a separate SIM card for this? Or can I just connect it to my phone hotspot?

I just lost my DJI Air 2S on the Isle of Skye today. I made the mistake of flying with the wind, and it was extremely windy. The drone was only 30 meters high and 50 meters away when it got pulled into the ocean, even in sport mode. This is the first time in three years that this powerful drone couldn’t fight the wind. It couldn’t make it back, and strangely, the signal was lost at 2 km distance, despite having a clear line of sight, even though DJI claims it can fly up to 12 km. With 50% battery left, the signal was lost, and the drone drowned in the ocean,very heart breaking to lose my favourite drone 😢 Lesson learnt, never underestimate the wind, check UAV forecast always and understand wind direction before flying.

But I don't really know if I like it so I will probably stick to the n-1 controller.
