I'm type 1 diabetic, so I'm hyper aware about how much sugar there are in things. For example, that bottle of mountain dew has as many carbohydrates in it as 2 full meals. I'm on the smaller side trying to gain weight, and my doctor has recommended I eat ~200 carbs per day. Meaning that that bottle has more than half of what I should eat in a day. Honestly, the amount of sugar in soda has made me start calling them "bottled meals" because of the carbs. Seeing as a 500ml soda has as many carbs as a well balanced meal. And to clear up possible confusion, sugar and carbs are basically the same thing in this case. As 1g of sugar=1g of carbs.

As a carpenter, I found that just by getting my protein intake high enough and not eating fast food I was able to go from a chubby, out of shape looking 200 lb man to relatively lean and in shape 170 lb man. My shoulders and legs, in particular, got way bigger in just a few months and I got a door frame pull up bar and started doing some push-ups, and started biking instead of driving for most nearby trips, and I'm starting to look a little aesthetic with almost no gym time
