Apart from being a melodist, musician, music director, he had been a vocalist and also a lyricist as i recall (correct me if im wrong on the lyricist aspect).. such a memorizing voice he had, which is truly visible on the initial recordings of the songs 'රන් තරු පායන' later handed over to our 'Beloved Romantic Heart Stopper' Keerthi Pasquel, and 'හවසට පායා අරුණේ සැඟවෙන' later handed over to our 'Heart Burglar' Late Gration Ananda ❤❤

The Italians were willing to give the movie producers cars for free for the getaway (I think Fiat 500s), but they had to be turned down because they had to be UK made cars. However, BL made them pay full price for the Minis. Apparently our suits were oblivious to the value of advertising, whereas the Italians knew that donating their cars would pay them back many more times the price of the vehicles. A perfect example of why we don't have our own industries anymore.

I recently learned that in addition to all the other cockups, BMC or Leyland, (not sure who was in charge at the time) grudgingly sold the film crew 4 or 5 mini coopers at wholesale prices, but they made them pay full retail for the other 25 or so that were used in production. You can bet that BMW gave them as many as needed for the remake.
