I see some people defending Morganite, and while I agree it's a good card for the decks that like it, that does not make it a staple. Remember, Stun is built to not play the game like any other deck, so it's a special case. Otherwise good episode, and good choices. I liked Adam, but he always had this doomer energy, and I like how enthusiastic you are talking about these cards. On that note, here's a tip for communicating with a Magic player. The big difference between both games is cost vs condition. One thing that confused me about Magic when I first got into it was there were no archetypes, just decks of good stuff depending on your colors. As I learned more about the game I realized archetypes would not work given how much you need to pay for stuff, and do so with specific colors. It's only in more recent years tribal decks are beginning to become a thing in MTG. Yu-Gi-Oh is the opposite, we started out as just good stuff since you can put any cards together. As time went on, more cards came with conditions that encouraged you to play them to go plus. That's why we have archetype, the condition being that as a group they work and help each other to make the deck better while working toward a payoff. It's why I play Ancient Gear rather than some weird Archfiend, Magnet Warrior, Sea Serpent, Wind Witch, Cyber Dragon, Kuriboh deck... which I do admit sounds awesome. You get the idea, Magic is about cost (probably more than any other game) and Yu-Gi-Oh is about condition (also probably more than any other game). Explain this to a Magic player, and it becomes easier to put the pieces together. Since this comment is already along ramble, here's an idea for a mini series. Time Traveling Yu-Gi-Oh! Each episode travels to a different era via Time Wizard format. Start with the first 4 starter decks, then go to GOAT, then Edison, Then HAT, then Finish Line (my favorite), then TOSS, and then somewhere in between Tearlaments and Snake-Eye, in that brief period where we had several dozen decks viable. Here's the twist, you make each one a lil mini 4 man tournament, and you have one of the MTG hosts join in for the ride. Show them Yu-Gi-Oh from the beginning, up until now. Would probably be a lot of work, but you'd get a lot of content. Anyways, ignore all my ramblings if you like, bottom line, good video, keep 'em comin 👍

I absolutely disagree with Time-Tearing Morganite being a stinker. It is played in Stun (love it or hate it, I don't care) but Stun has been putting up results.

Now, I wanna point this out, in the very first duel between yugi and pegasus, in the manga, the pharaoh even thinks "I have the lead, if I play the timer, I'll win" then he thinks something like "but that's not TRUE victory!" And instead runs in for the attack, gets dunked on by pegasus, and then loses to time out

Also those losses weren't Yugi those were Atem in Yugi's body (except for the Rebecca one) meaning the ACTUAL Yugi has only ever lost twice against Rebecca and against Atem while he was possessed by The Great Leviathan after it was snatch by Azrael

Great Format. Also good explanation. But Mirror force was a very long time a staple in Yugioh. I think for the first 15 years or so. So his way of thinks was good in this point. A question. I like the Jazz songs in the Background. Do you have the names of it?

Pay life points, sacrifice monster, discard cards, tribute, only summon once per turn, etc. Yu-Gi-Oh has more resource payments than any other game there is. The reason Yu-Gi-Oh is faster is because of over powered abilities of easy to use cards.

It's always fun to hear pro players analyse cards from a different game, but what especially impressive here is how quick he came to his conclussions. Tbf, he basically got Pot right, it's just that he kinda meta gamed himself out of it, so I'd call it a half miss. Very cool video!

Time tearing morganite has been used in stun decks. Also some decks have killed through prosperity.
@BoBnfishyКүн бұрын
I think some of these need a little bit more context. Mirror force was a staple for like 10 years, so saying that it is a stinker because it hasn't been good in a while doesn't really give the full scope of how good that card used to be. That's like saying that kalia is a bad commander because she's been power crept.

The problem with MTG/Yugioh crossovers is that the Yugioh person will say "3 turns and it's over!" and the MTG person will think "okay that's very fast but still reasonable" but what they don't know is that the Yugioh player means 3 turns TOTAL, not 3 turns for each player 😅
@larskuhlmann5571Күн бұрын
Time Tearing Morganite isn't really a stinker. It might not be a meta card, but there are a couple of (stun-)decks that can make use of it and it has seen competitive play. I guess you could compare it to Pot Of Extravagance.
