I may have missed this in the video, but does Suumo have any indicators of whether a guarantor is provided or not? Do most of the real estate agencies on Suumo provide guarantor companies or mediaries?
@julieinjapan_18 сағат бұрын
The process will be, you choose an apartment on suumo, contact the agent thru the link to meet in person - cause in person, the agent has to call the owner if foreigners are allowed in that property, or check if its still even available. So then, that’s the only time u can find out if it needs a guarantor. :/ Most apartments do, esp that we’re foreigners. All 4 of my apartments here in Japan had guarantor fee :(

I have my bachelor's degree done four years fully in English and teaching experience in my country. But I don't have 12 years studying experience in English. Do you know a way of applying for a teaching English job in Japan

Just took my conversion one and failed, did not check the mirrors correctly, but I did everything else fine the evaluator said, so I have to go back in a month. I've read on the internet that no one passes on their first try they have to get that gaijin tax from us I guess.
@julieinjapan_9 күн бұрын
I think we fail the first time cause we fail doing what’s correct. I taught a friend personally on how to perfect the driving test and he passed the first time. So “them” getting the “gaijin tax” which won’t make them rich is a myth.

I am qualified. The only problem was the driving skills. I opted to commute if ever. I am an English HS teacher for 10 yrs. Thus, I will try JET soon though the chance to be hired is so small.hehehe

I wanted to know when in March did you arrive? Also, after arriving, does anyone from the company come to pick up from the airport or we have to reach the hotel/venue for initial training ourselves?

It is shocking how many hidden fees they can get away with in Japan when coming from the UK. Usually we pay a month's rent in advance and an extra month's amount for a deposit, which we usually get back in full if there are no major damages.
