Lol these commercials are so goofy and fun. Missed them growing up as a 90's kid, but they totally fit into my earliest memories of the late 80's.

It's frustrating when a show is "almost great." And I think the difference between The Critic and Futurama was exactly what Gene pointed out: too few characters. The (unintentional?) brilliance of Futurama from a production standpoint was that it deal with first-season syndrome by using the awkwardness the show finding voice by letting the ensemble introduce itself in all the obvious ways that would allow the characters to reference themselves more subtly in future seasons. The Critic didn't have that advantage and it's storyverse wasn't interesting enough to sustain sustain full episodes much less full seasons. The creators had a great gimmick - the movie parodies - and they didn't run with it. It's a pity because what worked on the show really worked!

I thought Franklin Sherman was pretty funny. He may have been Mayor Adam West before Mayor Adam west was a thing. I don't know which series came out first.

So, they must have covered a lot of things due to promotional consideration. They also went back and whitewashed their coverage of a blockbuster when they were wrong.

I had such a love and respect for "Sandford and Son" that it makes me want to cry seeing a different show use the famous Sanford and son house in it without Fred Sanford. I was told that he died and other actors thought that he was pretending to be dead, very sad. He was the heart and soul of that show. They should have made a completely different show with different scenery and not try to piggyback off of his success after his death.

I LOVED listening to WGCL G-98 back in the day (80's) !! I had recently discovered Prince's "Do Me Baby" and become a life-long fan. Back then, "Erotic City" was usually played after midnight.😉 I remembered catching Uncle Vic's "Erotic Suburbs" and LOVED IT, it was so cool, funny and SO CLEVELAND🤪💖👍! It was running through my head tonight, so I looked up the title to see if there'd ever been a video of it and landed here! Thank you, Uncle Vic, for the great memory!

None of this ever happened because when “Sanford” aired, Fred was back and the house looked almost the same.

Yep, they completely ignored the events of this show when Sanford was brought back in 1980. In Demonds recent Comedy Hype interview, he was offered to continue Sanford and Son without Sanford, told him what he wanted and they came back with a counter offer and he refused since he had a deal with CBS in his back pocket. Given he was over both Lear and Foxx, he admitted they didn't ask him to do Sanford in 1980 as they already knew the answer, NO!

@@HomeRuleNews Sanford MIGHT had made has the didn’t have the fat guy in it. That utterly ruined it. Most of the Season 01 cast was fired and rightly so. Ugh. Should have had Esther on right at the beginning.
