You can over simplify anything to make it sound ridiculous. In the sport there are skills called Laning and Zoning. The purpose is to lock players out of key positions on the field and prevent your opponent from making moves to key spots. Like suppressive or covering fire in military tactics.

@@lidawg "meant for kids" - That seems to be a personal bias that is only fueled by your own opinions. Paintball's origins were not created by children, nor involved or marketed towards children. Paintball has a age requirement unless you play modified versions (splatmaster, gelblaster, or low impact). Additionally, there are entire leagues of the sports across multiple formats with sponsors, prize money, and even televised now on ESPN. I believe you have some of your own bias you may want to work through. It is pretty asinine to approach someone's hobby with such a uninformed argument of "this is for kids, espcailly someone with the username "lildawg." Additionally, it appears your hobby is random hate comments on the internet? I mean that's something. @@ClownEmojiii The competition is what these teams have come for though, and there are casual formats as well. Oh I hear you, in the X-Ball or Speedball format, points can get decided very quickly, however there are multiple points played per match so you always have another chance to fix what went wrong. Airsoft has a format like this as well. Painball has other formats that are more like airsoft's more scenario / mil-sim style as well. There is something for everyone. I primarily cover the NXL, and Regional tournament leagues, however airsoft teams and scenario paintball teams are invited to reach out I would love to cover them too.

That isn't the goal, you see less movement in lower divisions, and there is other skills play a factor in the X-Ball format. Laning and zoning to stop players from accessing critical spots. All the same there are many formats out there feel free to check them out. This one may not be your cup of tea however some other format may be.

"Wasting ammo" is a common expression people outside the sport will believe however just like many other sports there are skills that you haven't considered such as laning and zoning. Since the players doing the run down missed their shot and did not hit the Distortion player, the penalty is assessed as a minor. If he had been hit, the penalty would have been a major. The Distortion player did not have any penalties. Title is reference to the audio.

The pit and players in the field can't communicate to each other. What you are hearing are the sidelines refs, they use radio to communicate with each other to ensure zones are being watched.

@@demontraejohnson9245 playing IronMan? Laning and zoning are skills of controlling the field, it does take shooting. What some see as a "waste of ammo" is actually a tactic to control the pace and movement of your opponent.

I actually use a few different methods. This season it has been primary hand held and using a handle off the cage to help stabilize a bit. I also will use a tripod and a shoulder rig in some situations.

@@cruxfoto does your camera have ibs to help stabilize it then or just in the lens? The shoulder/chest rig would be nice. I use a monopod, but it has its drawbacks.

@@skullbuster19 I use Nikon Mirrorless which has some level of VR stabilization built in, which helps. I have used a monopod however I don't like the restriction in movement. Every option has it's advantages and drawbacks really.
