Yes, it was not unpacked. Obviously, she shouldn’t replace Jesus, but many Catholics -perhaps less consciously- give a lot of fixation on Mary. This is why Vatican warned against “gross exaggeration” of focusing on her.

Well, as you know from the audio, if you heard the whole thing, that I am not a Catholic traditionalist. So I bless you however, the Spirit leads you. Regarding the Marian aspect, it’s my conviction that a lot of it is dark in its origin. I would not universalize it to say everything, but that has definitely been my experience. E.g. for years I led prayer, events, big and small, and one frustrating pattern that I noticed consistently is that when people would pull out rosaries then the charismatic gifts would stop operating. People would stop getting visions and the whole spirit of the meeting would become divisive. it was so common that I had to draw a clear boundary. Regardless of the topic for me, the nonnegotiable is God supernatural love for each person core, heart-to-heart. if that is compromised, then you can be sure there’s something broken. Right up front you can tell from any traditionalist or Marian approaches are almost always the outside in approach. Another words you have to do something to get to God’s love instead of starting from it. God’s love is always where we start not where we end. From God’s love to our love, from heaven to earth, from supernatural to natural, from spirit to soul, etc. That’s the basic message of Jesus. So it doesn’t matter what other religious tools or doctrines or customs or traditions or habits. If they don’t start with God‘s direct heart to heart love, then it starts from a false reality. There are certainly lotta great things that you will get out of Roman Catholicism, but the vision that God keep giving me was that it was the tree trunk and the protestants were the tree branches and each have different strengths and weaknesses. But anyway, that’s my viewpoint. Go by the spirit -and many blessings to you.

@@dave-nevins Thankyou for your detailed and thoughtful response. I agree certainly with a lot of what you say. I think also though we must balance ecumenism with the beliefs- yes- God is Love. But God is also Truth. So doctrine is secondary but not arbitrary in any sense. And Marian devotion (like the rosary) certainly can lead to heart to hearts with Jesus when it is done correctly- when the words fall to the back and you are seeing Christ in mental prayer and longing to see the love and grace he gave to our Mother in our lives also. It is not a denial the mercy, love and grace are already there in abundance; but a prayer as a family of God for His continued revelation of it. I certainly agree the rosary; (or even any liturgical prayer) is NOT* appropriate at all times! Sometimes direct and freeform prayer- even tongues is called for! There is a lot I admire in your position. Virtues are often balanced in tension between extremes. I think being over "traditional" has consequences. But that personally I feel there must also be a balance when it comes to a lack of structure. We can't deny that God is also the God of the Old Testament. And the Old testament shows a structure and an order. I think charismatic gifts and an ecumenical spirit have a place within the order. But the order and truth of the magesterium- including her teachings on our immaculate mother - also have a place? I also agree that different denominations have different strengths; Even different religions do! But *everything* good may be absorbed into Catholicism; whereas the inverse is intrinsically not possible. The truth is that many of the branches are not content into live with the trunk. Many many branches want to DESTROY the trunk. And many have been successful at hurting the trunk... Just my 2 cents. Not intended to sound arrogant or decisive.

@reginaldmudford9722 Yeah, I agree that many protestant branches try to dishonor or even destroy the trunk. But as Peter points out in the audio certain groups in the tree trunk, think they are the whole tree or that the branches must fold back into the trunk when they’re really part of the same DNA. That is at odds with the traditionalist position and Roman Catholicism. And the tree trunk also includes a branch that comes out near the ground called the Coptic orthodox, and there is another tree trunk portion halfway up, which would be the orthodox churches.
