imma be honest my hatred for part 2 as a song and as a music video is as strong as my love for part 1 for the same. i know no one will read this. but i need to elaborate. part 1 is loud, brash, violent, and wears its symbolisms so paper thinly through bizarre its Imagery in a way that only indie band of its era could. It's energy jacks directly into my nervous system, takes control of brain cells and possesses me to dance until the song ends and find myself out of breath with beads of sweat dipping down my brows, adrenaline still pumping through my blood. a state i imagine the members of the band were in upon finishing playing this song. i find the pre-described state to be holy and any song that gets me there to be godlike. Part. 2 does not deserve to exist in the same video file as part 2. it sounds like a demo of the original a B or C side. I want to say the anxiety it creates with its dissonant cords is a purposeful simulation of the paranoia and fear a young girl would feel walking the streets late at night. but i know in my heart its not. it rely feels like they just wanted to play something bluesy and use drive a cool old car in a pseudo-noir styled music video. this is not a sequel to Mumma this is some strange perversion.
