20 years of shoveling this crap down peoples throats. Now observe how corporations are operating today. The corporate employee/employer relationship is extremely toxic. Teachings like this is part of the reason why.

12:25 I think there’s a balance to that, that idea is exactly why people blame themselves for things that are not their fault and it might not be realistic or a good thing to do. I know it is addressed later but it’s still a very important thing

I read the book, rarely done any in it cause I don't really need to. But as the result, I saw manipulation from my extended family miles away now 😅. And I stopped coming to family gathering. Funnily enough, duting one job interview, the person who was doing my interview mentioned that he knew I can read people well enough and his slight manipulation fell flat, amused he proceed to do normal interview with me. We became good coworkers later on 😂

These are all nice sentiments, until you experience that people who don't share these values will exploit you for them. And you can't always say no, especially when it is in a job-related situation. Sure, you can quit your job and say "fuck you" to the boss, but then you throw aboard the majority of points from this book. This is kitchen sink philosophy. It might help those who are already entitled to do what they want, but it doesn't give anyone new or better options. The truth is if you are doing the right thing your entire life is going to change. And most people I met aren't ready to lose everything on the slim chance of winning at something.

In my younger years, my language and social skills had touch and finesse… so people naturally felt comfortable around me. It got to a point where they would divulge secrets about themselves to their own surprise. Now older, wiser and with more experience, my form of communication has become much more blunt to those who cannot directly benefit me. We talk nice in hopes that said person can offer us something more and treat us at a higher level. When you become more capable as a person, you rely less on other folks and how they perceive you. Sure, you generally want people to like you- but over time you realize how draining it is to try and please everyone.. and in the process you begin to lose your true self.

I started to listen to this video and the first 8 minutes feel like a bait and switch. For instances in my case I have door slammed and gone grey rock with a lot of people because I came to see myself has having importance and being special. I don’t know if the tone in the video changes but what I heard feels like the same talking point people tell others to get over things.

This video seems to play both the narc and the victim based on the tone thus is confusing whether the channel itself is pushing the (unavoidable it seems) negative aspects of pseudo-malignant narcissistic manipulation for the gain of power. The book however at face value is just that. To have power, you require tapping into over-self-compassion mode. Then you choose, do I help or do I hurt? If you're going to help, good luck with your own conscious mind betraying you at every turn impostor, or hurt; just don't care, its just that easy.
