something like a rod bearing is knocking on that engine don't drive it before investigating the cause of that knock.

In Brazil this car is named Rural Willys

The gear box was the same, T-90 ... 3 speed manual transmission (first speed is non sincromesh too)

Very interesting! In Brazil, the Willys Wagon started produced in 1958, with the same design, but the engine was the Hurricane F-Head 6, BF-161 (2638 cm3), 90 Hp, used in USA in Willys Aero from 1952 from 1955, and not the Super Hurricane L-Head 6, 226 (3700 cm3), 105 Hp

Aside from knocking and the green looking like it was spray canned with 3 cans of paint from the front fenders back, it looks awesome. Both of those can be fixed, but I wouldn't drive or even run it again until it was overhauled. It is a very solid looking Willys.

Very nice indeed but it sounds as if the main bearings and connecting rods need some attention.

Well, if you only want to go 50 mph on the freeway, the original is for you. Me, I think 75 is going to get me somewhere. And try find parts, but if you never really go anywhere, original is good.
