I’ve never had a problem with someone in my slip. At my marina the dockmaster would tow the person’s boat out. We don’t put up with that shit.

Why don’t you show people how to do this with wind and a strong tide

Rule of thumb, Never operate your vessel quicker than you are willing to hit the dock at. Perfect example here, speed is not always needed.

Dude, you got this all wrong. You're supposed to go in there at half throttle? Your lines are supposed to still be in the locker. You're supposed. To head in so that he can't get out.

Cool vid. Being nervous on the water sucks. Used to dread navigating the tight quarters of shark river with my jet boat. As you know they have poor low speed manueverability. Getting lateral thrusters and thrust vectors was the game changer for me. Now my confidence is high and I always look forward to being on the water.

Probably worthwhile to, you know, start your motor before shoving off? But what do I know? I've only been doing it for about 55 years or so.

Only if they had invented something for this. Oh, that’s right it’s the mandatory hook. Boats were not meant to do a 360 That’s why you have a hook. The hook is designed to slow your speed, help you dock, turn around or determine whether you have a leak. As well as I’m sure there’s many other things that can be done with.

Also inboards tend to reverse better to the right. So starting a 180 you’d want to cut it to the left and bump it into gear then quickly turn to the right and bump it in gear. It’ll turn on a dime!
