Hello I am doing a mock exams to revise info that I need for tomorrow exam and I found a question that is really hard to answer. Which ITIL concept describes continual improvement? A. Service value system B. Four dimensions of service management C. Service value chain D. Practices As far as I am concered the right answer is A, however I don't see why D would be wrong.
@valueinsights12 күн бұрын
Hi There This question looks a bit strange and I understand why it is confusing. ITIL always states, that Continual Improvement should happen everywhere. In the SVS, SVC as a practice and basically on all levels of any organization. Nevertheless, if we look at the logical constructs of ITIL, so the SVS, SVC, the guiding principles, the 4 Dimensions and Practices, Continual Improvement is explicitly mentioned as an element of the Service Value System. So, I would also say, that A is correct, even though it is also a practice. All the best, Alex PS: all the best for your exam. Let us know how it went.

As per Pearson's Practice Test, Answer 9 would be Service Desk (option C) and not Incident Management (option B). Which one is correct ?
@valueinsights23 күн бұрын
Hi Santiago I am sorry, that there is confusion aroudn this question. This is the official purpose statement of the Service Desk: "The purpose of the service desk practice is to capture demand for incident resolution and service requests. It should also be the entry point and single point of contact for the service provider with all of its users." And this is Incident Managament: "The purpose of the incident management practice is to minimize the negative impact of incidents by restoring normal service operation as quickly as possible" So "Incident Management" is the correct answer. Hope this helps. All the best, alex

Why "standard" and "normal?" Those words mean the same thing.
@valueinsightsАй бұрын
They had to chose some way to differentiate between the two types of changes. Probably could have used other words as well. But there is now telling why exactly these two terms have been chose, altough there may be may ways to interpret them. That's why it is best to concentrate on their definition instead of the meaning of the words.

@valueinsightsАй бұрын

@shuffinginoblivionАй бұрын
@@valueinsights "You as a customer" Why am I a customer? Is ITIL about how to be a customer? You can describe customer behavior without this. The only "you" in these videos should be me, the person learning ITIL.
@valueinsightsАй бұрын
@@shuffinginoblivion You are always both a customer and service provider. ITIL is not directly about either, but it is about how value should be co-created between customer and service provider.
@shuffinginoblivionАй бұрын
@@valueinsights That doesn't change how confusing it is to say, "So as the service provider, you don't want this" instead of "The service provider does not want this." Especially when this habit is repeated across different categories.
@valueinsightsАй бұрын
@@shuffinginoblivion Ah sorry, now I get your meaning. I always refer to ourselves as service providers, because it is mostly people working in service providers who try to take the ITIL exam. Especially IT support service providers (internal or externals).

As you said in your video, knowledge of ITIL practices is very important. 7 questions from "purpose and key terms of 15 ITIL Practices" as well as 17 questions from "Understand 7 ITIL practices." That's 24 of 40 points from ITIL Practices!! Vielen Dank für Ihre Beiträge und Erkenntnisse. Grüße aus Südafrika.

1st and 2nd question and question from videao1 related to scrum master * developers is bit confusing .. is it possible for you to make separate video for them and explain please
@valueinsightsАй бұрын
Hello @jeevmlokii4937 thank you for your question! Here is an explanation regarding the first question in video 2: This question pertains to the purpose of the daily Scrum. According to the Scrum Guide, the daily Scrum serves to "inspect progress towards the Sprint Goal and adapt the Sprint Backlog as necessary, adjusting the upcoming planned work". In other words, it is a time for the developers to come together and discuss their progress, identify any obstacles, and adjust their plans for the day in order to achieve or get closer to the Sprint goal. While it is important to note that the daily Scrum does involve providing updates on individual tasks, its main focus is not simply to give a status update. Instead, it is a collaborative effort to assess where we currently stand, determine where we want to be, and make any necessary adjustments to our work in order to reach our goal. Therefore, the primary purpose of the daily Scrum is to facilitate progress towards the Sprint goal, rather than just sharing individual updates. I hope this explanation clarifies the purpose of the daily Scrum for you. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask!
@valueinsightsАй бұрын
Here is a detailed explanation regarding the second question in video 2: This question pertains to the role of the Scrum Master in the daily Scrum. According to the Scrum Guide, the daily Scrum is a 15-minute event for the Developers of the Scrum Team. While the Scrum Master may facilitate the daily Scrum, it is not explicitly stated that the Scrum Master must lead it. The Scrum Guide emphasizes that the Scrum Master is accountable for the Scrum Team's effectiveness and ensuring that all Scrum events are conducted positively, productively, and within the timebox. However, it does not prescribe a specific role for the Scrum Master during the daily Scrum. In practice, especially in the early stages, the Scrum Master generally facilitates the daily Scrum to ensure its effectiveness, encourage collaboration, and assist the developers in addressing any impediments. However, it is entirely possible for the Developers to lead the daily Scrum themselves without direct involvement from the Scrum Master. This depends on the dynamics, maturity, and specific needs of the developers.
