Wish I would've watched this before I bought one. I have fired 50 rounds through mine and have the loose front sight. Had some feeding issues. Hopefully, it's the ammo. Wish me luck. Haha

I hate the set trigger and forget smokeless modern loads . One thing I did that helped a whole lot was I shortened the metal tab on the front globe and drilled a hole in it so it wasn't so shaded . Buy Paul Mathew's books , they are cheap so buy all of them . 2 f goex , weighed to a tenth of a grain . "Yes it does matter " pour the powder threw a drop tube of at least 2 foot tall . " My drop tube is the handle to a golf club " then compress the powder with a powder compression die . "My compression die is a 38 special drilled and tapped with a fine thread bolt ." Turn the bolt down by chucking it in a hand drill and hold sand paper against it ." Use a card wad , "I use a wax coated bear coaster" Then your grease cookie , " I use aunt O'Dells home made lye soap " . Your 500 grain slug . Taper crimp with a 45 acp sizing die . Can't give amounts or measurements because every rifle and brass case is different , because of that keep detailed notes on every single detail . For example . my rolling block likes pistol primers . But this is a start for any black powder cartridge . The more time you put on the loading bench the more accurate your shooting will be , . The black powder cartridge will shoot just like a modern rifle . But there are a million variables . That is what makes it so much fun . Oh 1 more thing . A chronograph is as important as the seating die , You are shooting blind with out it

If you can get your hands on the browning its the way to go but good luck with that

So what's going on when you're chugging along with crimping/seating, everything going fine and suddenly your case gets a wrinkle in it about halfway down it? Case too long? Bullet diameter too big?
@CarlPapa88Ай бұрын
I've seen warming the mold recommended before, but watched a BRO video earlier where he didn't heat it at all. Just turned thay same pot to the setting between 8 & 9. Lil hotter lead and it poured, filleed the mold, & very little sprue to trim.
@CarlPapa88Ай бұрын
@4:55 Honest question since I'm learning what I can before making any investment. Wouldn't it have been better to use an overshot card rather than adding more payload before crimping? I'd like to see more on shot reloading. 👍

Nice video. I have a 32" barrel Long Range Express Winchester high Wall replica from Uberti. I've asked around, and been advised not to shoot jacketed bullets in it, even though it IS proofed for nitro. You seem to get good results with your 325gr jacketed bullets, which are not available here in UK, BTW, but a number of other 300gr bullets are. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Those small dents in the case are absolutely no problem in any way. If you shoot a Ar 99% of your brass will have imperfections in it...dents way bigger than that...

DO NOT SHOOT any .45 ACP in any Webley because the chamber pressure is TO GREAT for the Webley. You can reload 45 Auto Rim brass without the need for moon clips. . The load for 45 Auto Rim or 45 ACP should be 6.8 to 7 grains of Blue Dot powder. This load will give safe chamber pressure for the Webley's..Please watch this video for safe Webley reloading. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l7edd9Gny9ObeKc.html

But can the barrels be swapped? I say this cause you can buy new browning reproduction threaded barrels. And that would mean you could possibly put one in a Bauer? Could be fun!
@Sharps-im4lb4 ай бұрын
Yes. They can be swapped. At least mine can. However, the Bauer with the Browning barrel was quite stiff to rack. The Browning with the Bauer barrel had zero issues.

I have one of these my dad left me when he passed. Its what i used deer hunting with him and also small game on my solo adventures. Back then it wasnt uncommon to see an 11 year old off hubting alone with a 12ga. In one of my outings i went passed the landmark stopping point in the swamp keeping up with squirrels, the sun went down and finding my way back through the swamp fighting bamboo briars i lost the forestock. If anyone can give me the length of that stock i would be grateful. It may be easier if measured from the end of the barrel to the stock. Blueprints would be a miracle. Ive emailed Rossi a couple times looking for a replacement or measurements but never heard back from them. Thank

I really enjoyed your video - especially your attention to detail, I commend you. I have been reloading for over 45 years now and I like the way you think things out before you act. What I do recommend is buying a Sheridan Case gauge, the one I got has the cutout so you can see where there is interference, if there is some and check BEFORE you prime in case the case is not acceptable according to the Sheridan gauge. There is absolutely NO room for complacency in this type of work. It can mean your life or worse case scenario, others nearby you. Check and double check, it may take longer but it gives you self assurance. Oh, by the way, I have about 10K of them to load, can you help me out !!😀

So does C. Sharps build guns for Pedersoli? I've never seen one with both CSA and Pedersoli stamps on the receiver.

The stamp on this rifle is not not what you think. This “P” is actually for my last name. C Sharps does not build for Pedersoli.

That’s lousy that a company would let that out the door. You know damn well they tried to tighten the hell out of that front sight screw and knew he didn’t get it tight but sent it down the line anyway.

I find the half moon clips are a bit easier to load than the full. I have the steel clips, both full and half. The cartridges in the full moons wobble around so much that it takes a bit to get them to drop in. With the half moons I only have to contend with three cartridges so it is easier.

I inherited a PSA copy of the baby browning in stainless with a titanium firing pin.Super high-quality little pistol.You can carry it like a pocket knife and just as comfortable with a small pocket holster. I have much more capable pistols, but none this easy to conceal. Six shots of 25 on you are better than the one you leave in the car.And it is much smaller than the LCP Ruger.

I really do not know what is going on with Springfield, too many complaints, I have a 45 ACP (Springfield xds ) that doesn't eject my live round once I want to clear my last round, I am waiting for them to contact me of any repair issues, once I get my gun back from them I think I will get rid off that one and won't purchase any other Springfields pistol, my life depends on that so I am not taking a chance

Really appreciate the video. It's extremely helpful and the differences you mention are important (for me anyways). I'm really surprised that Bauer would sabotage their magazines to make them not work in older Baby Brownings. I wish I knew their motive for that. It would increase their sales by a fair amount if people could buy their magazines for their original Baby Brownings. It's an easy fix, but I'm just confused as to why they would do that. (and also, does that mean that the magazine safety lever is different in both guns? and/or that the pin in the frame that holds the mag-safety lever in is also different?). You don't have to answer those. I'm just wondering. I'm actually not a fan of magazine safeties, so when I do end up getting one, I'll probably remove it anyways.
