In 2010, I accompanied a friend up Border End and decided to further assist her by reaching the summit of Hardknott Pass. The overnight snowfall transformed the day into a magical Alpine experience. Among the few vehicles on the road, my Land Rover Defender was one of only two! A man driving a Vauxhall Zafira followed my tracks, and we had to lend him a hand. In the end, everything worked out well. While enjoying the roads is great, the fells hold an even more enjoyable allure. Ad altiora!
