It truly is a great engineered engine in terms of durability. I bought a 17 SXT Challenger 5 years ago, put over 65,000 miles of burnouts, 1/8 miles passesand track days, overheated it 8 times lol, and my dad is currently using it as his grocery getter after all the mistreatment. I got me a WK1 SRT8 Jeep to replace it, but the 3.6 Pentastar is one of the best and most reliable engines I’ve ever had. Especially coming from someone who at one points tried to blow it up in hopes of 392 swapping the challenger but life happens lol. Amazing video btw, very well put together.

I have 23 scat pack charger, 6 piston brakes. No performance mods all stock except for catch can as far as engine. What tires do you recommend for regular street driving? I don't race on a track or race people in the streets. I do enjoy the car myself and get on throttle at times, never in eco mode mainly in sport with traction on street lol. I respect the car and I respect I'm not a professional driver, but I can handle the car when it gets sideways at times. Looking for an excellent performance all season tire balanced wet/dry handling. I don't really drive in the rain, but just in case I get caught in it. Scat pack is mainly driven on the weekends. 2020 VG charger GT is the every day driver. Thanks

Just wanted to say every time I search for info on installing these things, everyone is like “oh I don’t want to bore you with the simple details” or they gloss over the literal things me (and other beginners) are looking for If you’re not gonna be “condescending” can you at least not assume everyone knows what they need to know and give the beginners some direction of where to get started? The assumptions in the videos are really annoying and it’s why I’ve yet to dive into messing with cars. If more experienced people think you’re condescending for giving information (can always say “skip to x if you already know this”) then fuck them. They’re obviously too good for everything to begin with and have no reason to watch your video.
@TrackPackRT
@TrackPackRT 4 күн бұрын
@@AnthonyLoPrimo I will say that my install videos have never really been meant as a complete step by step install guide with every tool and every possible thing you’ll need covered to do the install extensively. Whether it’s these scoops, headers, cam install, exhaust, they’re meant to by a pretty comprehensive overview from a guy who has a little bit of automotive ability but is mostly going in blind on these installs and trying them out for the first time, so that people who are in a similar boat as I was can see what’s involved and maybe gain the confidence to give it a shot themselves. While I don’t cover absolutely every minute of the install in these videos for obvious reasons, I always leave myself very available to answer questions and give advice for anyone out there who’s having problems, whether that’s here in the comments or through Instagram DMs. I really do believe in the culture of a great automotive community and helping each other out. That’s what makes the hobby great.

The 3.6 does get a lot of hate. They are fairly decent motors and fairly reliable. But they’re far behind the times which isn’t always a bad thing. Its good that power is still considered impressive today because the 3.5 2gr-fse from Toyota/Lexus is considered underpowered by many but was making that power back in 2006 and is still used today. My 2007 GS350 has 313K miles and still has more power than I know what to do with half the time. Hopefully dodge keeps their 3.6 long term.

Did you ever make it to a road course to see how it feels? I wore out a set of new tires in a weekend back when I was in college in the University parking lot course we set up. I had to drive on threads for a while until I could afford some new tires again LOL. Wasn't too bad, the tires weren't made for racing and the sidewall edges wore out quick on my 1978 Sunbird LOL. Sad thing was I had already paid to go to a real road course race weekend at Summit Point WV the next week and couldn't risk blowing out the tires. I’ve had no Mechanical issues with my 2015 Grand Cherokee Limited, but have replaced oil Filter Housing 2 times, First time it leaked oil and the coolant sensor went bad, second time the oil pressure sensor went bad. I replaced it with the updated Aluminum one at 140K and replaced Original Spark Plugs and coils since I had everything apart. While changing the spark plugs one coil boot had oil on it , so replaced all the spark plug tube seals too. If I had taken it in the repairs would have been in the thousands. I did it myself and probably have around $500 for both repair/Fixes. I run BG EPR every 4th oil change and put a Baxter Filter housing on it to prevent dry start ups. I would like to buy a new vehicle, but can’t justify $1000 a month payments, when this vehicle has been paid off since 2018. Overall this is a Pretty good engine, would have been great but for the oil Filter housing Design.

I think the reason the Challenger stands out so much and is so popular is because it's what the Mustang isn't. If it was small like the Mustang it wouldn't have the same appeal. The ironic thing between the mustang gt guys vs the scat pack guys is that they are so close in performance that calling one slow would be like calling the other one slow as well.... Scats usually stock vs stock win from digs at track and mustangs usually win from rolls but not by much literally a couple car lengths. I like coyotes more personally because they are just better to build in boosted applications but saying the 6.4 is slow when you have a stock mustang is crazy lol.

I found out the hard way. If you are lucky... You can get the Godspeed aftermarket parts that can fix your rear suspension issues. The abuse can completely ruin any chance of good alignment and eat up your tires in a very short period of time. Thank God I was able to get those aftermarket parts and fix my issue.

3.6L Pentastar are great engine. When it comes to 2012 when the engineers change the oil cooler and oil fliter in one spot. In between the intake and valley. It's great ideally for oil to lubricate the cams but the failing point is the housing materials and the coolant. This is same for 3.8 and 4.0. If not for that engineering design, I'd say more of these will still be on the road than junkyard. 2010 3.8L for a town and country. I've always have wits with this but the mileage is currently at 208k miles. Not problem other than the battery shorting out the WIN Module and ECM lockout signal. The van runs fine but the airbag modules, body module, and a few other modules are not reacting because of different VIN programming. Other than no problems. I got the 3.8L before the oil cooler is under the intake.

The passenger side is the difficult one. I know I had 2 different length deep sockets, a regular socket, and 3 different sized extensions to get in tight spots at different angles. One thing that could help is to consider grabbing a 1/4” drive ratchet and socket because they often are smaller and take up less space, which could give you access you can’t fit with a 3/8 drive. Keep going, it takes patience but you’ll get it done!

But I do understand the concern, considering the average car has 5000 parts and legacy auto makers are trying to make a transition to EV cars after watching TESLA successfully do it. IMHO, the Dodge LX platform and beyond was so popular there will be aftermarket and refurb parts coming for a long time. I have been collecting some parts for a while now, rubber door trim, panels, etc.. But you can't collect all of it, unless you buy a complete duplicate donor car, LOL. So long as machine shops, forging foundry's and auto manufacturing exists somewhere in the world, we will be OK. The additive manufacturing industry (3D printing) only helps going forward!
