I am convinced that Peter Kreeft is a mystic, even though some have denied this, citing some statement of his gathered from somewhere in his vast work. The proof of this is found in his words, his attitude or physical posture, his humor, and his charity inextricably linked to his devotion to truth. Only in God do we find united two such disparate qualities: personalism and metaphysics, the moral dimension and the ontological dimension, history and logic, the heart and the mind, being and action. Only the Most Holy Mary and her Son, the Lord Jesus, can inspire such a man, a man, a teacher, a father with a heart as large as the world and an intellect as sharp as a sword, hallelujah.

The Kant category analogy of light coming through stained glass is interesting. He says the color (reality) comes from the glass (our consciousness). But all this implies that there is a different me observing my consciousness (just like there is me looking at the colors coming through the glass). But the consciousness and me are the same thing, no? In other words, Kant seems to say that my consciousness distorts reality, and then presents it to me. Consciousness being a step in awareness. But I don’t see why it is a “step.” I am my consciousness and the awareness of reality is direct.

John the Baptist was jailed and b3headed for being too Holy. He called out a King's sin, and died for it. I think about that a lot and wonder who, and I don't count myself important enough to be on that list but who knows, will be the next people called to suffer for the truth.

While I was listening to him I kept wishing I had a printed version of this lecture to follow and highlight some parts. Wonderful lecture!
