Does anyone notice that in Switzerland 🇨🇭, the first leg after the covid shutdown, the three first teams were also the top 3 finalists. And the first leg in France 🇫🇷, the placements there were the final placements of TAR S33

27:21 Wouldn't it be very interesting if we had team Cayla & Ryan along with team Raquel and Dusty. Ryan has the composure like Raquel and Dusty does pay attention to details like Cayla. So it would be interesting to have those 2 teams

28:12 I also don't want any team to go. In fact, I wish that it was a non-elimination leg so Tim and Rex could stay, but still, I like Quinton and Mattie. So I was also glad that they managed to make a comeback and stay. And also music is their strength while that's not the situation for Tim and Rex

15:57 I think that things would be crazier if Quinton and Mattie managed to get there a little earlier and finish the challenge a little earlier than Claire, like how Derek was afraid

We need more podcasts where people admit to wanting to quit The Amazing Race over candy and coins. It's funnier when said out loud.

Yes, I agree, this format is great! Don’t need just a recap, but rather your strategy/thinking. That will benefit future teams more. By the way, on Derek & Claire’s podcast, Claire said she asked another racer for help with the wrench. He helped her because she was not a threat at that point.

Derek and Claire talk about reversing the car on their podcast, and I guess on theirs, you had to put it in 1st and push down?

You weren't alone in your season. Kim said during their recap that she also had an anxiety attack in Portugal and told producers she wanted to go home. None of it was aired, though.

Didn't Lumumba do both roadblocks for their team? If so, then there was no rule that each team member had to do one of them on the megaleg.

A vote in favor of strategic talk. It gives us a better understanding of why teams may have made their decisions and a broader understanding of the race beyond what we see on air.

I like the strategy and the behind the scenes glimpse of how your prior experience would shape your choices on the current season. It's so easy to judge from the comfort of your own couch. I admit being fairly annoyed with Sharik while watching the episode, but she and Linton put out a video explaining a lot about her mental state and functioning and I think that went a long ways towards changing my mindset about it. Loved Dusty's comment about the camera adding 10 lbs and cutting the fuse in half!

Love your podcast! It’s crazy that Emily completed the Ducati challenge faster than David who is a helicopter mechanic! And I agree on all points regarding both Dom and Sharik. I was disappointed that Sharik brought her attitude to Phil on the mat but I understand that it was a really hard day for her. And I definitively give props to Dom for completing the challenge. Everyone focuses on the fact that she wanted to quit but not the fact that she finished it and didn’t give up.

So glad you guys are giving some grace to Dom during the sculpting challenge. A lot of fans were not as understanding *but* putting myself in her shoes, I would’ve totally panicked at the sculpting challenge as well 😅 Also, being a motivational speaker doesn’t mean that you don’t need motivating yourself…Kim radiates positivity for others but struggles with anxiety and Dom seems to be like that as well; her partner Rich being patient with her and talking her off the ledge was great. Totally agreed w/ Cayla about Sharik not turning it around at the mat was a disappointment but her dad also handled her well. I’m excited to see the teams go to Petra the next leg. As always, love hearing from you guys ❤

Hey, you're back! How did I miss episode 1? Got to go back to listen to it. Just want to say it's great to hear your perspective on this season based on your experiences. Oh, and one more thing. Is Kayla saying that accordions and bagpipes are equally hard to listen to? 😃

Dusty, I have a question if you do a deep dive of challenge USA. When you were on the amazing race, you and Ryan were great partners.Ryan was a great at calming you down and encouraging you (I.e. the rocks). If you were on the challenge, since it’s more of an individual game, do you think you would have a problem?
@dustyharris7861

Absolutely a fair question and yes 100%. The thought of letting my teammate down haunted me about as much as anything and on the challenge it’s Mano y Mano, and i feel as though i would do well on the social side of the game as well! Thanks for the listen! Dusty

The Ice Block was different because they got an entire crate full of items to use, hence the rubber chicken, the ice pick, the chisel and mallet, hammer, etc.. thats why Dereks broke he used the chisel while the team that took 1000 smashes used like a hammer/ice pick combo thing.

Love you guys continuing your recaps! I hate the 15 minute thing - doesn't seem fair, for example, if 1st place team arrives an hour before anyone else, they should get an hour head start. Isn't that the way it used to be before Season 33?

I was so proud of Linton and Sharik on this episode with the dancing! He was so proud of his daughter. Parent and child teams don't often do well, but I have a sneaking suspicion that they'll sneak on through to the front!

Hi Cayla and Dusty! It was nice to see Cayla on my screen again with The Challenge: USA and Dusty I hope you had a blast with Ironman. This is the first TAR season in a while where I genuinely like every team. Just for funsies I'm going to list my elimination prediction: Top Three (no order): 1-3. Derek & Claire - I am biased but they give major winner energy, plus what you mentioned about being comfortable on camera/competing. 1-3. Marcus & Michael - Seem to be a strong, persevering duo. They are definitely finalist quality. 1-3. Emily & Molly - Their placements aren't super great thus far but I think they are very race smart and adaptable which is invaluable in the race. 4. Luis & Michelle - Had a HUGE improvement. I think they will get better over time. I predict they will be a strong team but with quite a few arguments/miscommunication. 5. Linton & Sharik - I feel like this is going to be a team that is consistently at the top, but not the leaders. I'm sensing a very HECTIC leg takes them out. 6. Quinton & Mattie - Potentially an up-and-down team that gets cut in the middle. 7. Abby & Will - Very entertaining but they are probably a "middle-of-the-road" team. 8. Rich & Dom - Rooting for them but they might struggle to pull ahead. I hope they are more careful especially after the hat incident. 9. Aubrey & David - One of my favorite teams, but I am not too optimistic based on their performance. 10. Glenda & Lumumba - Either they get eliminated here or they make it far. Episode 3 previews did not do them any favors! 11. Tim & Rex (Eliminated) 12. Aastha & Nina (Eliminated)
