I wonder why this show only lasted one season. I mean it got high ratings and Nickelodeon was constantly advertising it as "from the people who brought you SpongeBob and Avatar" so you could tell they were optimistic it was gonna be their next hit Hell it even had writers from Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain. Nickelodeon clearly had a gold mine here

I actually first remember the clips from CatScratch from the Nick Picks DVD trailer from various SpongeBob DVDs from the 2000s, especially the Season 4 Volume 2 ones, but I never actually seen the show as a kid, until I rediscovered the show in my teens and decided to watch all of it. It turned out to be a great underrated show to watch, even if it lasted just a single season.

There are at least two versions of the line “But life is complicated when you’re always together” One has just Peter Hannan's normal pitch tone.. The other version Peter Hannan pitches his voice up and there’s a backup vocal track that pitches up even higher.

I loved watching Catscratch as a kid:) I used to have some of the happy meal toys and I remember watching this behind the scenes video on Nick on Demand:)

oh man thanks for uploading this, where'd this version come from?! :O I've never heard it before - there's two versions?! the other ver has a totally different delivery for "but life is complicated when you're ALWAYS TOGETHER!" and a slightly different mix for the music near the end... that version was played as a music video in ad breaks on Nickelodeon, I wonder what the story behind the two different versions is... Anyway, thanks so much for sharing! It's a crying shame that this absolute gem has never been released on home media.

(cough) Cool to see this on KZfaq - appreciate the link back to my site, you totally didn't have to do that but it's really nice that you did <3 Love this demo... and the story behind it never gets old lmao Some context for it from Peter's old site: "Here we've included harder-to-find, in fact, until now, IMPOSSIBLE to find recordings: the "CatDog Theme Song" demo, recorded on an Apple Power Book in Peter Hannan's basement studio/dungeon in Chicago in late 1995[...]" it was posted as a flash .swf along w/ the demo for one of the movie songs. was really bummed out when he revamped the site in 2012 to make it a generic Tumblr page x)

Animation class should be a Summer School elective for high schoolers, alongside computer sciences & information tech, music performance & appreciation, advanced cultural & social political studies, etc. So much pressure for schools to test well & look good, that all crucial creativity & critical skill / thinking get thrown aside. I couldn't think of a cooler way to spend my formative year Summers aside from having general fun.

Despite this being the first ever SpongeBob game it looks a bit uncanny and weird the graphics are a bit too pixeled and overall a pretty weird game for being the first ever SpongeBob game made aside from that is a decent little masterpiece ❤
