I took my Ninebot S Plus with this foldable handle out for a 1 mile test ride yesterday, and it worked very well, with no issues at all. I really like it. I was a little worried that it could possibly run away for a long ways if a rider ever fell off of it, or just let it go. When I tested it by letting go of the handle, it only runs away for a few feet, then repeatedly tries to slow itself down by automatically adjusting it's balance, so it gives you plenty of time to just walk a few steps and grab it again. That made me much more comfortable letting grandkids, or friends ride it. Just in case anyone else had similar concerns.

I have a 2018 raptor that is smoking just like yours was. I was going to replace my PCV valve because every Ford dealer in Houston area was saying 6-8 weeks before they can even do a diagnostic and I laughed at them. Last week I got a call from a dealer who told me they can get me in on the 27th of this month (Dec 2023) and I’m going to let them handle it. Under warranty so I’m ok with it. I’ll post results when I get it looked at but I suspect it’s PCV valve related as you have shown.

I have a 450x with the metal motor. After almost 4 seasons, one of the rear wheels started making a whining noise while working. Noticed that that wheel had vertical and horizontal play if I moved with my hand. I had to dissasemble the motor completely, and replace the 2 608Z bearings. I've put 608 RS bearings that are insulated and I hope they are going to last more time. The new motor does seem to last longer and be better designed that the plastic one in your videos. My gears didn't have any kind of wear like the ones you show, even after 4 years, without any grease, only some carbon dust was inside at that point. I believe that these motors can last until the electrical motor dies if you just regrease it, and change the bearings if you notice that the wheel has play. If the wheel has play and you don't change bearings, no matter if you grease it, it will start wearing the sungear. If that happens and no grease remains I believe it will wear really fast. If you notice any weird noise while the autmower is working, you should really do some manteinance to its wheels. Thank you for taking the time to upload your video, I love to see people fixing things on their own! Husqvarna wants you to buy a new complete motor after every couple of seasons, which is totally stupid. You might ask them but they don't sell any spares for fixing motors, not even the bearings which wear really fast (they are not insulated). You can buy those anywhere though. The problem is if the sungear is wear, because you'll need to salvage that piece from another used motor.

Yes, my touch panel is sometimes temperamental and nothing on the panel works. At least there are redundant controls in the infotainment screen for everything. Don't forget voice commands can do most of it too. I also notice MKS' don't malfunction the same for everyone with this issue. For instance, on my MKS, (for either the top or bottom slider row) a small, illuminated section starts to glow when it malfunctions. The panel is just unresponsive until I "GENTLY" touch any button in that row. It then corrects the problem until the next time. I emphasize the gentle part because these are kind of delicate and only require a touch for the command. I see people pressing really hard and that is probably not helping the cause. Thanks for the vid.
@Skul-Ski
@Skul-Ski Жыл бұрын
You are absolutely correct on the gentle touch. I believe mine no longer working properly is the by-product of other folks that used my car and did not get an instant response from the buttons and then pressed very hard. There can sometimes be a bit of a delay which is when people press too hard and then damage it.

Thank you for posting this video. There seems to be limited information about these drive motors. I appreciate you mentioning several key points about the gear wheel pins, the need for lubrication in all moving parts, and advice on getting the four screws out. I need to replace both drive motors on my 450HX that has 2,500 hours on it. I'm assuming they failed because of no lubrication. I doubt I can save them as both have significant end play. About those four nasty screws, I'm looking into trying to find the same hardened screws with an Allen wrench head or T wrench head so they are easier to remove.

Yes.If you want to , to prevent the other side doing it also just disconnect both sides. Mine only beeps now and then. Until it drives me nuts I'm gonna leave it with only 1 ribbon. Now when you disconnect the ribbon you have control of the fan slide the white part but not the radio volume. You can't disconnect the panel it's the brains of the whole thing. It goes into a default mode where it just blows heat on the windshield and the heated seats won't work if the panel isn't connected. Any questions feel free to ask. No way in hell I'm spending $500 for the problem to just come back again and again. One guy I read spent $2000 fixing it and then 2 years later it happened again

Need help identifying the 2 fuel lines on the driver side of the bulk head. Is the bigger line the in line to diesel pump or is the smaller one it.? I can t find any info or video showing locations and names of each line. I have to re prime my engine and I have trapped air in the diesel filter feed line.
@Skul-Ski

The one that goes to the plastic fitting on the top of the filter assembly is the return. The one that goes to the fuel preheated which is just above the pump and up against the block is the feed from tank. The return is a bit smaller I believe. If those hoses are original, they will be quite brittle. $50 each from Mercedes. They are custom contoured. I contoured my replacements myself. Wasn't worth the time and effort.

This is a great video! My 450x has 5,283 hrs on it and previously no issues so I've been pretty lucky. Earlier this week, I noticed that my automower was taking a long time getting back to the charging station at the end of the mowing day. When I went out, I discovered the right wheel was turning and the left wheel was locked; no fault message on mower (not sure if that's because it was in searching mode instead of mowing). I ordered a wheel motor and because this part ships from the Safford in Alabama and is going to take about a week (I am in Wiscosnin), I decided to take the planetary gearbox apart and see if I could temporarily get the mower back up and running until the replacement part arrived. Upon inspection, there were no issues on the plastic gears other dirty so I cleaned them up but the seizing was coming from the metal gears under the metal washer. I filled the metal gears with carb cleaner and I got a lot of dirt and debris out (a lot). I repeated this carb cleaner process (fill and empty in the gear box) and on the third time, I got out what appeared to be wet spongy insulation about the size of a dime. Of course this was the dried lubricatant softened up by the carb cleaner. I repeated the carb cleaner process one more time as the gears were still not rotating freely and the remaining clump of lubricant came out (about the size of a distorted penny) and the gear box starting rotating freely. I added some automotive lubricant (white lithium grease) to the gears and put the unit back together. It's been running again for 8 hours without issue. My automower season is up in less than one month when leaves really start to fall and the automower just pushes leaves all over the yard so, at that time when I winterize, I will repeat this process on the right wheel motor and keep the replacement wheel motor for when one of the motors actually fails.

Sounds like heat is the issue. What else melts the grease, kinda obvious i guess. That may explain the new metal flange, helps dissipate heat from the gearbox. Also dirt entering the gearbox would be a major problem but from the video they look pretty well sealed. Does the manual tell you the grease type used? Is it high temp silicone based? Should be with plastic gears involved. Be interesting to get a temperature reading after it runs for an hour. Especially before and after a plastic flanged motor has been swapped to metal. So many vids with this problem, not sure i want this brand.

Don't let this stop you. The Husqvarna is by far the most reliable of all the robot mowers I have had. I have been using robot mowers for more than 15 years. This is a very easy problem to fix if you do run into it and the newest motors I installed look to be very robust. As far as the grease is concerned, the original grease in the plastic ones honestly looked light Vaseline. And a very light coating at that. There was more in the new motor, but I added some regardless.

Usefull info, thanks! Just disassembled a broken motor (RH) after replacement on my 315. The route cause i finally identified, was the three plastic gears on the top. Ill see tomorrow if i can replace the plastic ones in the new motor with the metal gears from the spare device. Also one screwhead of the 4 axial screws broke. The amount of grease in the broken motor after 3867 cycles (hrs) was acceptable in my opinion. Btw. the battery was also down after this lifecycles, exactly in the range given in the maintenance manual. Finally after 5 years i had to invest 240€ for maintenance and i think the RH weel motor (another 170€) will come soon.

Unfortunately I am pretty confident those plastic gears are not interchangeable with the metal gears. Also rather uncommon that the plastic gears failed before the metal ones. From my experience the common failure has been the metal ones typically wear out the ID.

Intense inward pressure while turning the screwdriver. But. Best option is an impact screwdriver. And by that I don't mean what is typically called an impact these days.I mean the fat metal handheld one that you strike with a hammer. If all else fails, drill the head off that one and just use 3.

Still plenty of room in there for the gears to spin. As I mentioned I got 3000 more hours out of a gearbox the gear Box that was giving me faults. I agree that it should not be packed solid but but after packing a good bit of grease in there and giving the motor a spin there's still plenty of void area in there. And after those additional 3000 hours that I got on a faulty motor the insides were not crusty and hard as they were after the initial 1000 hours. My hypothesis is that the failure at 1000 hours was absolutely the lack of and improper Greace and the failures I got after 4000 hours are likely a loose failing wheel bearing. I am 100% confident I would not have achieved that many hours on the original motors without without adding Greace. I am also a 100% confident that adding grease to the brand new motors will keep me from having to do any maintenance at the 1000 hour mark.

Thus wheel motor gearboxes last usually 6-10000hrs. Be good and measure that wheel packed with grease... How much mA it draws? Also do the same at 5c. My opinion of filling things with grease will not change as any material that needs to be moved while wheels move is resistance and there fore friction and ware on parts. Over grresimg bearings and gearboxes is death sentence for them and not saving. Sorry to hurt feelings 🥺
