Salmon fishing has to go to catch and release, or sadly, there will be no leapers left on the Nore orthe other rivers of ireland. Just have a look at catches at the various famous pools over the last 30 years to see the ever declining numbers. Intensive farming has also played a role in affecting the water quality and has had a synergistic derimental affect along the the drift (now banned) and snap netts

@snapnetter Last year was a disaster of a year. The snapnets got there quota and much more. The anglers got fuck all. The river was blocked all season. A lot of net marked fish were caught. I wonder where that happened ya muppet

Time they were stopped. Poachers legalised by the Irish government, whatever way you look at it.Hopefully the new EU regulations and penalties will put an end to this sooner rather than later.
